Intellfan #1 Posted October 5, 2013 It is hard to believe I have been playing Intellivision for 30 + years . But I am glad I am passing on the system to the next generation I gave both of my nephews a system and some cartridges they both love it, they grew up seeing me and their dad playing all night lol . Now I passed it on to my 9 year old daughter . Who loves Dungens and dragons Treasure of tarmine ,Night Stalker.Snafu,Comando, Frogbog, Beauty and the Beast and learning more every week. My oldest daughter still likes her Wii but i am trying to convert her LOL.
Rev #2 Posted October 5, 2013 Nice. I also play with my kids. Good games are good games, no matter what system! And once a kid from this newer generation can passed the old school graffix, they love it.
+save2600 #3 Posted October 5, 2013 Passing on the vintage gaming love to a younger generation is always a beautiful thing!
Oscar G. #4 Posted October 5, 2013 Great to hear. Last winter I introduced my nieces to the Intellivision via the Carol Vs Ghost of Christmas game and competition. They loved it! I do agree with you guys there is enough enjoyment and excitement in our favuorite console for the younger generations to discover. Cheers!
DZ-Jay #5 Posted October 6, 2013 (edited) I'm glad to read your story, and it is great that you can share your childhood passion with your kids. I must admit that I came to this thread in a combative mode. You see, I misunderstood the subject line, "Passing on the love for Intellivision." I thought you meant you were "passing on" it, as in declining. Well, I was ready to see what made you fall out of love with the console, and to try to convince you of how good it really is, if you "take on" rather than "pass on" the love for it. I'm rather relieved and moved by your actual story. Great to hear. Last winter I introduced my nieces to the Intellivision via the Carol Vs Ghost of Christmas game and competition. They loved it! I remember! I received a fan letter from one of them. They did very well in the competition (even if they were later beaten by the hardcore gamers), and in return they earned an "Honorary Elf" title. I do agree with you guys there is enough enjoyment and excitement in our favuorite console for the younger generations to discover. Cheers! I agree! At least until they grow up a bit more and discover the Internet... Regards, dZ. Edited October 6, 2013 by DZ-Jay
