Mock #1 Posted March 1, 2003 Ok, I have about a 5 car garage that I can get 1 or maybe 2 of my cars in...the rest of it is boxes out the ying-yang.... I did some digging early this morning found a few cool things: *several Atari Age Mags - ah, the memories...and the fact that they were pushing Crazy Climber, Waterworld, Cube and the rest like crazy on every other page and somehow my fragile 12 year old mind could not figure out I needed to order these games is beyond belief? *(4) stray Atari 5200 games *Several Atari Cash bucks *An envelope with a lot of my original game booklets! (yay!) *My Indiana Jones newsletter/tip sheet? *An MNetwork sticker? *One strange mini-gemini joystick that is pretty small (white/brown in color)? *Atari Force #4 comic *An Activision newsletter *My sweet a$$ space age material Atari Jacket! (Silver) *A letter on Atari letterhead that came with my sweet a$$ space age material Atari Jacket . *A few other misc order forms/posters/ and stickers of Atari stuff. All together, not a bad find for a few hours of digging....lmao. Any of this stuff of interest? If so I can put up a scan if anyone wants to see it. Still no Wizard of Wor "Warrior" pin.... SS #2 Posted March 1, 2003 *several Atari Age Mags - ah, the memories...and the fact that they were pushing Crazy Climber, Waterworld, Cube and the rest like crazy on every other page and somehow my fragile 12 year old mind could not figure out I needed to order these games is beyond belief? Oh yea. Join the freakin' club! I kicked myself for years about never getting around to ordering a Crazy Climber from the club. I bet I carried that issue around in my Jr. High bookbag for a year. gulag picture radio #3 Posted March 2, 2003 Is the jacket a size that an adult can wear? IO find it funny that all the jackets that show up on Ebay are Youth XL sizes. I figure that there were probably very few of those coats made for adults. Congrats on the find. Wish that I had a garage at all, let alone one packed to the rafters with treasures! Oh, and I'd love to see a scan of your Atari bucks... never seen that before.
King Atari #4 Posted March 2, 2003 Amazing what you can find in a garage, eh?
SS #5 Posted March 2, 2003 I'd love to see a scan of your Atari bucks... never seen that before. I second that. Were they from the Atari Club?
sku_u #6 Posted March 2, 2003 I'd love to see a scan of your Atari bucks... never seen that before. I second that. Were they from the Atari Club? I'd love to see this. Never seen one before. What was written in the Activision newsletter?
Mock #7 Posted March 2, 2003 THese are just quickies I made with my digital camera here...theya re dark images, not very good, I will scan all this stuff in the office later and put them up on my server...the backs are white and have some Atari Club info on them...batteries in my camera need to be recharged...sorry for the poor quality for now. ***Also, the Jacket is size Youth XL. Mock #8 Posted March 2, 2003 Sorry for this being sideways...I'll rescan it in the office as well and post all pages. It is Fall 1983 Volume 7, has Space SHuttle, Frostbite, and Decathalon on the cover, articles inside include: *Letters *?'s and answers *The Gallery - home drawn pics from kids *New Patches - Space Shuttle, Decathalon, and Crackpots *Scoreboard - High scores from across the land *An order form for the Activision Club *News *Designers Corner - Interview with Larry Miller (Enduro - Spider Fighter) *Rumors *An Enduro Quiz *Sponsor ad for Activision sponsors Datsun Racing. That's it - cover to cover. I tried to pull the image into paint and rotate it, but it would not let me save it as a .jpg and the size was almost 1M...didn't want to post it like that...sorry again for the Horizontal view...you can save pic as and rotate it on your desktop if you want. SS #9 Posted March 2, 2003 ARCS, I remember those from the AA mag. If I recall correctly, they were introduced near the end of AA's publication. I always wondered what happened with the poor slobs who were stuck with 'em once the club folded. Now I know, they hid them in their garages for 20 years! Not that I’m suggesting that you should (you shouldn’t), but I wonder what something like this would fetch on eBay? They are a pretty rare item but, on the other hand, are also just worthless scraps of paper in reality. A total unknown. They should probably be scanned for either this or Curt’s site, though. Very cool.
Mock #10 Posted March 2, 2003 Yep...I got stuck with 11 total...I think I got the 5 when I purchased an Atari Coffe Mug from the club...lmao. The $1 had Centipede on it, the $5 has PacMan, wonder if they had higher amounts and if so who they had on them? I'm thinking of dumping a bunch of my other stuff on Ebay and getting more into the Atari, NES, and Genesis stuff....I have a ton of autographed stuff I have collected over the years and a lot of baseball cards and Hot Wheels taking up a lot of space in my garage...I have a ton of more Atari stuff out there, just have to find time to go out and dig it out....got lucky and found most of this stuff in one box. Which site is Curt's? Mock

sku_u #12 Posted March 2, 2003 Those are great items to own, Mock. They are an important part of Atari history. I'm pretty sure you's get some cash for the Atari Bucks and Newsletter if they were thrown up on Ebay and/or advertised in the Marketplace Forum. Mock #13 Posted March 2, 2003 I'm planning on just keeping them, I have a guy who wants my extra atari age mag with Crazy Climber on it...somehow I ended up with two of them...so I'll probably trade him that for something, but I'll try to get good scans up on a webpage soon or send them to someone who is running a webpage already so everyone can enjoy them...a lot of good info in the mags if you have never read them.
