Vetea
] Hi all !! I'm Vetea, 42 years old and i live in France ! I create Retro Gaming for fun and i want to show you my last creation : Papi Commando And the Lost Commostrad "Who Dares Win III" I know the old good 8 bits times and computer ! I used my CPC 6128 for 7 years !! One of my favourites game was Who Dares Win II ( and Commando, Ikary warriors, Pirates, Elite, etc ... ) and i wanted to do a game like this oldies ! The Story : You play as Papi Commando, a soldier-become-geek with a collection of old 8 bit computers. However, his arch-enemies, the evil organization known as C-Plus-Plus have stolen his beloved Commostrad. And so, with your help (and a few of his favourite weapons), he sets out to reclaim the many pieces of his Commostrad, and take vegance upon his enemies. Although you have only a limited amount of ammuntitions, you can collect more as you go. Also, you will be awarded special powerups to assist your fight at the end of each battle. However, they only last until the end of the next battle. When you lose, you be shown various stats. Also, if you choose to play again, you'll get a special bonus to help you. The C-Plus-Plus officers are as brutal as they are evil. Some of them are more intelligent, and may use parts of the terrain as cover (you can as well). Each officer has it's own personality: reflexes, speed etc. ( This demo is limited to only a single type of officer, and only two stages. ) Controls : You can use Keyboard or Joystick/Pad/Stick to play the game and Escape to quit the Demo. This game use QB64 Technologies, it's a evolution of the old QBasic of microsoft, but the client is compiled in C++ !! So it's a fast and powerful Basic !! The Trailer : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7Hhu0-3FIE&feature=youtu.be You can find the Alpha Demo if the attach files !! Vetea
Hi all !! I a little abandoned QB64 to find the VB to modify the code of my level editor for the future Who Dares Wins III!! It has needed to adapt the new size of maps to the new format of the game (up to 2048 pixels for the moment) It is going to allow me to establish the first level for all my tests on the game !! It is going to say to itself that it is going to need to study the generation of certain enemy on the map... My editor will take care of it! Others will be automatically generated... Vehicles will be scripted events following the example of the original version (Bombardment, machine-gunning, tank, etc.) I reflect to integrate posts of machine gun that Papi can use to kill under cover his enemies (and save his ammunitions) ! In brief a very beautiful specifications for a final game which should promise! Here is a capture of the editor : Edited October 20, 2013 by Vetea
Vetea
Hi all !! I start the dev. of Who Dares Win III !!! A huge challenge : - Scrolling Horizontal faithful to the original - Enemy units exclusive and varied (I hope to create at least 6 different types) - Vehicles of fights (Jeep, star(speedboat), tank, fighter) - Vehicles of fight which PAPI can use (subject to my "technical" possibilities!) - Upgrades of the previous version will be preserved! (It is necessary me to reflect about the vent(blowhole) of appearance and their management in game) - Maps XL varied! (2048 pixels of length, even more according to my creativity) Exciting no ?? And for conclusion, here is a bonus video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ggl76lGRXOo&feature=youtu.be You can see my last works ... and the bugs too !! See you and thanks for you support ! Off topic, but can I use QB64 to port old Qbasic progams to generate an exe compatible with 64-bit windows? Like, say I have code for an old QB game... Hello !! Thanks !! I think WDWII could have a nice new episode yes !! For your old QBasic code, yes you can port it with QB64 and compile a .EXE for 64bits, 32 bits windows ... No problem ! Cheers ! Basically a Tetris clone with bombs and enemy soldiers. You destroy the soldiers with blocks or bombs to increase your body count before the Apache helicopter picks them up. -50 points every time a soldier gets rescued. Also had some raw tunes from Yellow submarine and others I don't recognize.

Vetea
Hi all ! I integrated the C++'s Generals into the core of the game!! Here is their look: Their specificities: - Faster than the Officers (20 %) - Better armed (equipped with a Magnum with quicker bullets) - More reactive and more aggressive - Will remain hidden even if PAPI passes above them - Will go out of their hideout if Grandpa uses a grenade. - Bring back more point. - Susceptible to pop Upgrade when died (under reserve) Here is a small screen shot with these units in the screen: Cheers !!
