Jazz Jackrabbit 2 collection on GOG

You forgot two things. Jazz Jackrabbit 1 collection and Epic Pinball collection.

10% off if you buy one bundle, buy all 3 and it's 25% off. Hopefully now that they're contracting with Epic, we can get Silverball Plus 2, Solar Winds, Jill of the Jungle and more. They had some of the very best games back in that day outside of iD Games and Apogee Software.

Tanooki, can you even look at those games nowadays? I like Atari games but the old Apogee games seem too crude and janky for me.

Re Ubisoft, they seem to give away a lot of stuff with their game launcher. I've been unwilling to use yet another thing like that. Anyone else have experience with it? Does it get in your face with constant updates like Steam, Origin, Galaxy etc? JamesD?

Yeah I can. I can enjoy stuff like that still as the best of that period were uniquely fun enough and didn't much overlap the style the NES/SNES had then. I can't say I'd finish one now, but then again likely the case on the consoles too.

I intend to snap up Epic Pinball but Jazz I never got much into. Solar Winds was my favorite and it still plays like some stuff you see now. Commander Keen, Jill of the Jungle and Halloween Harry I put good time into and enjoyed a lot. And if it is in the cards of Silverball makes an appearance I'd grab that one so fast as I really did love the dragon (Fantasy) and greek gods (Odyssey) tables, but not so much the others. Blood kind of sucked, but the Snooker one was not that bad, just kind of an empty EM style table.

Free is a word used very loosely when referring to game giveaways in borroware clients.

The UPlay does require regular updates, but it has been closer to once a month where steam seems to do it at least every 3rd day.
Steam is seriously pi**ing me off. Oh hey, tweaked something, make everyone update.... 5 hours later oh look something else... make everyone update the entire freakin app!
How about rolling out every change from the last week on Mondays, then once you get your s**t together, every other Monday?
Then everything but major hacks once a month after you learn a little self control?

I'm fine with them, though I've never been a huge fan of CGA (and I don't have the hardware for composite).

I don't think I could get back into something like Epic Pinball though...I played it a lot back in the day, but back then it was probably the only pinball we could play that wasn't Pin*Bot on the NES =) I feel like I'm a little spoiled these days.

DOSBox does composite mode and BurgerTime looks so good that way.

Most games that support composite CGA (and not EGA) are too old to work well in DOSBox, though =)

Name some. I would be curious which titles are giving you trouble. Every CGA game that supports composite mode I use in DOSBox works flawless with proper adjustments to the conf file. The DOSBox devs over at Vogons.org have been a great help.

I just enjoyed those 2 tables in Epic, but honestly it wasn't my first and in a way they were kind of downgrades I suppose. A friend of mine in HS was into the dial up modem warez scene and brought a copy of the DOS ports of the Amiga gems Pinball Fantasies and Pinball Dreams which we would sneak onto the school PCs for when we got done with our desktop publishing class work as the teacher (a college prof) didn't care if the work was done. Those blow it out of the water and using MOD music wasn't PC beep on the internal speaker and sounded incredible in use.

Don't get me started! I can't tell you how many times I've booted into Windows, intending to play a certain game, and Steam wants to update, various games want to update, and well everything on the system wants to update. Anyway 30 minutes later, the game I wanted to play will finally launch. Now I don't use this system everyday, so updates stack up. But still, things update way too frequently these days.

I'm going to start using complaints about upgrades as a justification for having so many toys. Play on one while the other(s) are doing their boring maintenance things.

Nintendo switch firmware updates are wacky fast, like mere seconds long.

I played this on PS3 and enjoyed it quite a bit. It's a run-of-the-mill shooter, nothing innovative here, but if you're into those kinds of games you should give it a chance.

Bonus points for correctly predicting the death of Kim Jong-il in the intro cutscene.

Winter sale is going on, Grim Fandango is free and make sure you connect your GOG and steam accounts there are some more games being added (click the connect button on the website)

It wasn't free when I got there but I might already own it anyway.

I was able to pick up 10 other freebies I didn't have.

Grim Fandango showed up after going to the site again just now.

Yeah it's weird, but it did show up and it was free for me since I didn't own it.

What is up on the GoG Connect this go around as it's showing nothing to me.

I checked it about a week ago and I had no results, I clicked it today and three games were added...so I figured I would mention it, some people forget to click on it once in awhile to check to see if anythings been added.
