Cupcakus #1 Posted March 2, 2003 Picked it up last night... Target had the get a free game deal and they also throw in a free memory card... so I was like... what the hell. Got MP4 with it. I really wanted to get prime, but FPS's are games that once I beat them, no matter how good the game is... I never play it again. The dust on my Halo package is apauling :-) My wife is a Mario Party nut, and it's replay value is thru the roof, so it just seemed like a better buy. And cause I can't do anything half-assed, I got the rest of the goodies, GBA->GCN cable, and two more controllers... I also got Animal Crossing... someone somewhere told me to get it... and I'm a sucker for things that make my GBA do stuff I have never seen it do before. I played it for a little bit... I'm a little irked at how it uses real time for the game world... I often can't play until late at night when my other responsibilities are done... and most of the game world is shut down late at night. I also got the E-Reader for my GBA... something I've had a fascination with from the moment it came out... Picked up all of the NES games for it, I also picked up a pack of Animal Crossing e-cards, hoping they would do something neat in the GCN game... but after wasting 30 minutes scanning them all in to the GCN game... absolutely nothing worth while came out of it... All it did was send me worthless letters in the "Mail"... Maybe I'm missing something? I was thrilled to see it retains the last major scan you put in it... even whent he power is turned off. That is great! The NES games take 10 scans, which while not very painfull, is easily avoided until you want to load another game into the reader. And last but definetly not least I got the Mario Party e-card game... very neato... easily the families favorite card game ever... It's simple enough for the kids, cunning enough for the adults... and the GBA mini-games are really fun, especially the duels my son is really good at a few of them. +Cafeman #8 Posted March 3, 2003 Congrats on a good purchase. I don't get to play my Cube as much as I'd like to, but that isn't becase I don't really enjoy the system. I got some time over the weekend to progress my Metroid Prime game, I'm about 55% now. Great game there too. And as you said, there are plenty of older cube games to snag at affordable prices! Gabriel #10 Posted March 3, 2003 I grow to like the GameCube more each day. I recommend Godzilla and Super Smash Bros Melee. Both are really fun games. Skies of Arcadia Legends is pretty good too, but I've been distracted from it by Xenosaga for my PS2.
MegaManFan #11 Posted March 3, 2003 Don't forget to get Pikmin and Mario Sunshine.
Miqorz #12 Posted March 3, 2003 Man if anyone wants a ps2 with a couple good games for their spare GameCube let me know.....I want a GameCube so bad...
Paralistalon #13 Posted March 4, 2003 I recommend Godzilla and Super Smash Bros Melee. Both are really fun games. Super Smash Bros. Melee is a game I have been playing for well over a year, and it still hasn't gotten old. The best 4-person fighting game ever! Cupcakus, I also got the e-reader. The Animal Crossing cards aren't worth it. You usually get 2 common items per card. They're mainly for collecting. Do you know that you can unlock up to 17 NES games in Animal Crossing? AtariDude #17 Posted March 11, 2003 Super Mario Party is a great game. My godson brings his game cube over from time to time and everyone has fun playing that one. We especially like the ones where you have to co-operate and play as a team.
ApolloBoy #18 Posted March 11, 2003 Congrats! I got mine just a few weeks back and I love it...I'm reserving Zelda today BTW, good system, and quiet for a CD based Actually, the Gamecube is DVD-based.
Jasoco #19 Posted March 11, 2003 Mini DVD based, actually. It's the size of a Mini-CD but spins backwards and reads from the outside. Piracy prevention technique.
theaveng #20 Posted March 11, 2003 Nah... there are so many older GCN games I've been dying to play for months, that I will have plenty of time before I get to Zelda... and by then it will be easily available :-) Yes, but if you reserve Wind Waker you also get Ocarina/Master Quest. That's 2 games for the price of 1! I couldn't pass that up. Quazick, what were you thinking when you bougt that PS2???? Final Fantasy 10. Final Fantasy 11. Final Fantasy 12. Xenosaga. Grand Theft Auto. Kingdom Hearts. Suikoden 3. Grandia Extreme. Red Faction 1. Red Faction 2. Ico. Legaia 2. Tomb Raider. Plus, all those PS1 games he hasn't played yet: FF7/8/9. Tactics. Xenogears. Chrono Cross. Oddworldd. And so on.
joeybastard #21 Posted March 11, 2003 I just got a GC for my birthday from my wife. I have Metroid and Mario Party 4 so far. Both are completely kick ass. My wife and I used to play the N64 Mario Partys every night but this new one has been dominating our time. There's a place I know in Bellmore that has a lot of GC games used for under $20, so I'm going over there this weekend to pick up a game or 2. Probably 2. Gabriel #22 Posted March 11, 2003 Two friends and I got together for some Godzilla the other day. One of them had bought their own GC, so he had a third controller for us to play with instead of doing two player alternating matches. There was much monster and city bashing fun had by all.
