Gabriel #1 Posted November 6, 2013 I keep a book of high scores. It used to be a little spiral notepad, but I recently transcribed it into a hardcover journal. I generally have a game per page, but different ports of the same game generally go two per page. In addition to the score, I try to keep track of game variations and dates. I don't erase old scores, so I can see a history of how I've improved at a game as well as how I've progressively moved to other game difficulties and variations. The bad thing is that it's completely disorganized, so I have to flip through the book quite a bit to find the game I'm looking for. It was during one of these page flipping efforts that I started to take note of the dates. Nearly all my high score dates are in a range from September to November. It's some evidence that I do most of my classic gaming during that time of the year. I know I go through cycles (or binges) where I'm more interested in one of my hobbies over the other, but it was interesting to me to see some firm proof of exactly when the cycle happens. Does anyone else go through similar cycles? Does it seem all your high scores are made at some particular point of the year?
