Wasteland 1 coming soon to gog.com and steam

I just received a kickstarter project update on Wasteland 2.
One of the things they mentioned was that Wasteland 1 re-release was going to be on gog.com and steam, possibly as early as Friday.
Backers of the Wasteland 2 project will get a free key for Wasteland 1.

Key was just released! Right now you can get either the PC or Mac version on either GOG.com or Steam. Linux is version coming soon.

Hello Rangers,

Your FREE COPY of Wasteland 1 – The Original Classic awaits you in the Ranger Center. As we continue to work hard on its sequel, we’re very happy to give you the opportunity to play the original. As a Wasteland 2 backer, you are eligible for a Wasteland 1 key regardless of your tier or the timing of your support (early, late, whenever).

Login to your Ranger Center account to retrieve your key:

Once logged in, you will see “A FREE GIFT – The Original Wasteland” on your main Account page, with the option to redeem for either a Steam OR a GOG.com key. The game will be playable immediately. If it does not show up on your library, restart the download program.

These keys are for Windows and Mac.

We understood from our Linux fans that Steam-only distribution was not desirable, so we are holding on the Linux launch until it will be available on more than one platform and in at least one completely DRM-free fashion, if desired. We will have a subsequent announcement regarding Wasteland 1 – The Original Classic for Linux very soon.

If you are (also) eligible for Wasteland 2 via your Torment pledge, either through the Kickstarter or as a late backer, you also get a free copy of Wasteland 1. Log in to your Torment account on our pledge management system, if your tier includes Wasteland 2 you can find your Wasteland 1 key under the “Donations” tab.
