I got an Atari 2600 Jr!

Yesterday, I went to the DeAnza College flea market to look for Atari stuff. Even though I found a few Atari games (including 5200 games), my search seemed hopeless. But then, I found an Atari 2600 Jr. with 22 games, 2 joysticks and a pair of paddles for $5! Anyone have any comments on my find? BTW, I got it with its RF cable, but no switchbox or AC adapter. Luckily, I found both at RadioShack.

I rarely see them anywhere. Perhaps it all depends on the region that you live in? I've heard varying stories about rarity of consoles (since there is currently a thread about them. )

up here where i live that's all i really see i thought those wood grain ones were the hard ones to find i'd trade even one of my atari jrs for one of those bigger ones they look so cool

In the UK the Woody can fetch a big price if boxed but the 2600Jr is aways quite cheap even when boxed. The 2600Jr is relatively common over here.

 

I've got a 78 Woody mint in box.... but I don't really use it, I use my 7800 as it is more flexible.

I've been to the DeAnza market. Was the seller a youngish guy with black hair working with his mother? Bought an Mattel electronic football off him awhile ago. You know between you, Cpuwiz and me we could probably start a Silicon Valley gamers club.

Nope. The seller was an old lady. I could tell she wanted to get rid of it becuase of the look on her face and the price. And if anyone wants to know, here are the games I got...

Congratulations on the find!!! awesome . I just got an Atari2600jr off a kid and it doesn't have working sound grrr... They are suck a really cute system - very cool and the games are great that it came with. Many Congratulations.

Does anyone have one they would sell cheap so i can finally hear sound?lol ?

I have bad news. One of my games, Ice Hockey has already died. I tried cleaning it with alcohol swabs (they're cotton squares dipped in rubbing alcohol) and a pencil eraser but it still doesn't work.
