Yurkie's new DIY composite mod video board

Recommended Posts

I had been wanting to make a self install composite video mod for the last couple years and it is finally ready.

Also in light of my new module I will NOT be discontinuing with my mod services Dec. 13th. As a friend said "there will be a lot of people that want you to install this for them".

Picture (top left to bottom right)

1. Module

2. Connection points. Green wire connects to pin #1, Red wire connects pin #4, White wire connects to pin #6 and black wire connects to the right side of the C88 capacitor. Cut notch in side of RF module for wires

3. Cut notch in RF module cover for wires.

4. When drilling hole (left and right) the center of the jack should line up with the center of the inducter (inducter is the brown ceramic component with horns marked L9 on the ColecoVision board)

5. The center of the jack should be centered between top and bottom edge or slightly above center.

6. Cut opening in the back of the top piece of shielding for module. Make sure that the shielding does not touch the mod board.

7. Shielding cut and installed.

This mod was developed and tested for NTSC. Mod board comes with my composite video cable. Price is $27.99 + $3.99 shipping in the USA. I have 10 of these currently available for immediate shipping and will be making more.

Module including Installation is $39 + return shipping. System must be in perfect working order...This is only installation...no other work done.

Console refurbished and module installed $59 + return shipping.

Prices for console refurbish with module installed + controller set refurbished (ball knobs and straightened cords included) will remain $89 + return shipping for system shipped by December 13th. After December 13th the price increases to $99.

Intro skip BIOS is an extra $15 and Pause Button is an extra $35 or both together for $40. These prices will remain the same.

I bought one of these kits, and was at my door in no time. I had it installed in about an hour and it's a big difference, especially the sound! Everything is crystal clear and bright, Highly Recommend!!!

Yurkie--if I have you install this it will take care of my RF module issue? (giving me black and white screen at worst, extremely de-saturated colors at best)

Try rebuilding your power switch, if you haven't done so already.. I had the same exact issues and was told the same thing about a bad RF module, however the power switch rebuild took care of it.

I had Yurkie do a test and clean so my power switch should be fine.

Good, hope everything works out for you! I have another CV console on the way at the moment, picked it up off eBay for $33 or so. It's nice to have a backup system ;-) I'm gonna keep one stock and hotrod the other :-D
