ColecoFan1981 #1 Posted November 16, 2013 Does anyone know how both Scramble and Super Cobra would have looked back in 1983 if the cartridge ROM size for both were at least 16K, preferably either 24K or 32K? The Parker Brothers release of Super Cobra was only a mere 8K in ROM; if it were 16K maybe we would've heard more of the original music and some of the graphics may have been more detailed. The pieces of music that were missing was the SC intro music (only the Scramble intro plays, upon system boot and after every 1000 miles passed), the mileage clear music (for every 1000 miles passed), and the final stage clear music (after booty is picked up successfully and without fail). And if Scramble - Super Cobra's space-themed predecessor - were released for the CV, whether by Coleco, Parker Brothers or perhaps Milton Bradley Electronics, it might have had several of the same sound effects as Super Cobra. I wonder if any mockups were created for a possible CV release of Scramble? ~Ben
retroillucid #2 Posted November 16, 2013 I did this to see how Scramble could look like on CV *Note: This's a WIP mockup
+retroclouds #3 Posted November 16, 2013 This is how the homebrew TI-scramble game looks like on the TI-99/4a, same VDP as the colecovision. Rasmus, the author also included some colour enhancements when using the F18A.
NIAD #4 Posted November 16, 2013 Electric Adventures has planned a CV version of Scramble called Cavern Fighter, but I can't find the pics on his site now.
