+Schmitzi
I talked to him and Hal about it... they dont like the name *Atari* in the name of the site. Maybe we should tell ´Atari´ means "All Texas Are Real Instruments"
digdugnate
I finally got the haul of diskettes of my grandpa's (which were provided to him by my dad). I'll start posting pics of what all i ended up with- one of them is an assembly language game that i think dad was working on but gave up lol. here's a scan of a letter first scan0030.pdf
digdugnate
picture dump! i'm thrilled to see some of dad's music programs are on here plus some 'fixed' games there also is a copy of 'Caveman', an assembly game that he started based on the movie with Ringo Starr. I'll be going through these tonight and cataloging the ones that don't have directory printouts.

+arcadeshopper
Now you know how these old farts get set in their ways the Atari age was from 1970 until 1990 something so I think it applies even if the priorities are wrong :-) source: I'm an old fart Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk

Omega-TI
Interesting looking at the photo above... The TI-99/4A looks much newer than the Mac. The design of the Mac forcing the older CRT use combined with the yellowing, makes it hard to believe the MAC is probably a year or two younger. Opry99er
Its a 1987 Mac Plus. 5 years younger. Im having issues out of my hard drives on the Mac though... sad day. I dont know enough about them to fix it, so Im sort of a sitting duck currently... Im talking with a Mac guru trying to narrow some things downbut Ive currently got a beautiful and complete CRT paperweight.
digdugnate
my apologies for the mess and low light on my pic of my TI system. This is my 'man corner' (i don't have enough space for a man cave, lol)- the desk has my 994A/PEB and an Atari 2600 4 switcher. Not pictured is my tote of carts- the thing I'm most proud of is i have a near-complete set of MBX games and manuals. I'm always rearranging stuff here.
+OLD CS1
In the absence of a working TI Program Recorder, this is the rig I am using to recover my tapes. It is doing a fantastic job. Note that the TI cassette port expects speaker-level inputs, and at a pretty good volume. So far I have been able to recover programs and read data from tapes which have been in pretty crappy storage conditions since about 1989. Good-old Radio Shack equipment Speaker output to TI cassette cable

Well, I was able to get it to boot up... there was a termination setting on the back of the first hard drive in the chain that I switched to a different number. I then shut it down and booted up again, to make sure it wasnt a fluke... and then it didnt boot. So I changed the termination setting again, and it booted. Soooooo confused.... (OT, I know. Ill shut up now)
