José Pereira #1 Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) Hi. Before someone posts here any link I have to say that I'll be only with an older mobile phone that no way possible to get into sites like Atari Archives. Thats why I am posting here because I am trying to remember but no way! If anyone kindly give me a quick information about this: It's not Missiles in 5th Player but each one taking the correspondant Player colour for the hardware collisions registers we have what? 1.)- Each Missile takes the collision register of the same Player number to each of the PFs? OR 2.)- All Missiles are treated as one and have altogether the same collision register? 3.)- And if it's 1.) or 2.) then what collisions can we set the Missiles to PFs: with PF0, other with PF1, other PF2 and the other with PF3? 4.)- Between Missiles are impossible to set collisions, right? 5.)- Missiles to Players can be or not? And if they can is only what, for the other Players number? 6.)- In the ANTIC4 or 5 charmodes the Players (and Missiles?) can have distinct hardware collisions to PF2 and PF3? Sorry to bother you again but it's just for something that I am thinking and if any answers would be great because it will help me passing some trip hours and take a pen and papers... Thanks. Rybags #2 Posted November 30, 2013 In 5P mode there's still no missile to missile collisions. Collisions still register as normal, so normal practice if using as 5th Plr is to just read the 4 relevant registers and OR together. Playfield collisions have 4 bits, so covering PF0 thru PF3. José Pereira #3 Posted November 30, 2013 Then what? In 'normal mode' each Missile has the same collision register as the same Player number? (like P0 and M0 have the same collision to PM1, other one to PM2, other for PM3 and more four to PF0, PF1, PF2 and PF3? And so on for the other three: PM1, PM2 and PM3?) Rybags #4 Posted November 30, 2013 5th Plr mode makes no difference to collisions. Collision registers for Players are totally seperate from those for Missiles. They do essentially the same thing except for the fact Missile to Missile collisions don't get detected. And that's regardless of if they're acting as Missiles or as a 5th Player.
