WestofHouse
Hi, all. After years of considering the PS3 I finally pulled the trigger on this year's Black Friday bundle. Can any of you recommend some old games I might find in the "Pre-owned" bin that I should pick up? I ordered Gran Turismo V XL Edition for $10 during Black Friday, and my bundle comes with Last of Us and Arkham Origins, so I'm off to a good start. I also have Plus, so I'll be getting this month's free games (Grid 2 and Bordlerlands 2). At some point I want to get old (i.e. cheap) versions of FIFA and Madden. The Red Dead series looks interesting as well. I'm also looking forward to testing the PS3 as a BD player. I've always heard that is a great one, but I don't know that it will beat my standalone player (which has no fan, so would be quieter, I think). cimerians
The Last of Us which you already have could be the best PS3 game that's exlusive to that console. Like the 360 there's just a ton of stuff. I saw this list and I think all these games are worth it: http://kotaku.com/the-12-best-games-for-the-playstation-3-5877932 The Last of Us great game....those guys also did Uncharted which is what Tomb Raider should have been. Read Dead had such a great story. Also check these: - 3D Dot Game Heroes - Bioshock trilogy - Batman Arkham Asylum - Burnout Paradise - Dante's Inferno - Dragon Age 1 - Dead Nation (PSN only) - Dead Space 1 & 2 - Disgaea 3 - Dishonored - Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen - Eternal Sonata - Fat Princess (PSN only) - Fallout - Flower (PSN only) - Folklore - Heavenly Sword - Infamous 1&2 - Mass Effect Trilogy - Ninja Gaiden 2 - Rayman Origins - Risistance Trilogy (It ends with the third game) - Pixel Junk games Monsters, Shooter etc (PSN only) - Skyrim and Oblivion - The Sly Trilogy - Valkyria Chronicles - Wipeout HD - Yakuza 3 There's a ton of downloadable's I'm not listing like D&D Chronicles, Pinball\Zen Pinball, Wizardry. Also classics like Midway collections and Sega Genesis collections..... Lots of cash to collect all this stuff but right now is the best time when it's CHEAP Edited December 2, 2013 by cimerians
WestofHouse
Thanks for the excellent list! Cheap is definitely what I'm going for. One of the reasons I don't mind buying a PS3 this late is because I know there is a great catalog of games at reduced prices and/or available used. Reaperman
Valkyria Chronicles (might be pricey, I don't know) Fallout (but avoid new vegas) XCOM (I think that's in psplus too, right?) Modnation Racers Shift 2 Unleashed IL2 Sturmovik (less pricey than Birds of Steel, but almost as much fun) Battlefield 3 (should be dirt cheap now that 4 is out) Edited December 2, 2013 by Reaperman
oesii
I just bought a PS3 last month. Grabbed the GTA V 500GB bundle. At the same time based on recommendations and my own tastes I picked up: Bioshock Trilogy Uncharted Trilogy Red Dead Redemption MLB The Show 13 If I ever get through those ten games, I'm planning on picking up Last of Us. Since I don't have a great sound system for my TV, I also picked up the Pulse Elite Wireless Headphones. These things are awesome for games and Blu-rays, really add to the experience with good surround and bass effects.
KrazyKaiju
Just Cause 2 and Sleeping Dogs are $15 at Amazon right now. Both are great fun.
