Painting Atari 2600 Help

If you don't already know, there are good (not perfect) paint matches for the orange bezel and controllers. These are the ones found on the boards:

Now that's good if you are just going to fix the trim. What about the wood grain in the front?

I just bought a light sixer (and a s-video mod board based on Longhorn's). It doesn't have scratches or nicks, but the wood grain paint in front is faded from years of use (you can see the black plastic). Was wondering if anyone had success repainting this area so it looks authentic? I would hate to have to make this a 6 switch vader. ;)

Thanks!

My light 4 switch had faded woodgrain color as well on the left side.

What i did was more extreme... I scraped all woodgrain for left side and painted it using spray.

The result is this (still WIP)

Your Atari is beautiful! I may have to go the same route, maybe I can "recreate" the Atari logo on the right side and do the method of skinning.

Do you have a step-by-step on how you did this or maybe some tips?

Thanks!

Thanks man :D

Well... first off I did a mockup on Paint.

Then covered all plastic cover in paper tape. Make sure you dont cover the ridges but tape them from inside as well. I used a long ruler to help me guide the tape IN the ridges.

Then I printed a big atari logo on a A4 paper and draw the contour on the paper tape.

Afterwards I used a NEW exacto knife and cut all the mini pieces of the logo.

The rest is easy :)
