Pit Stop

post-5757-0-56534300-1387057540_thumb.png

At breakneck speed you ster your race car around the track. But that's only half the challenge, because in the pits it's a race against the clock using your joystick to control the pit crew.

Plan your race strategy carefully, the faster you go the more fuel you will burn and the quicker your tires will wear. Should you stay on the track or head for the pits? The decision is yours. Remember in the pits it's a race against the clock to gas up, change tires and get back on the track.

This isn't just another race game, it's like the real thing. Pit Stop, the first race game where the race is won or lost in the pits.

Pitstop - 354,000

post-9212-0-86944200-1387263031_thumb.png

Ummm...I haven't played this game a lot in the past, so I'm not sure...but if you play 1 driver and finish each race don't you get the maximum purse because you always finish 1st? So is $354,000 the highest you can get in this game?

As long as you finish every race, you get first place and $354,000 regardless of the time. So if you finish the races in 5 minutes or 10 minutes you still get $354K.

A better contest would be to pick a single race track with the fastest time as the winner.

Good grief - I had no idea.

Well that's not a bad idea. What I'll do is split this round up into two parts. The first as-is, i.e. the grand circuit and the second a speed trial. Watch out for a new round with the speed trial starting this Saturday and running for one week only!!

I seem to have a Coleco handicap. this time the rom is working for me, controller working fine, but I can't figure out how to make this game start. all I can do is select difficulty, then... no response from any button! Is it a button-combo to start it?

--sorry for always having dumb questions :?

thank you roadrunner!

I seem to remember having trouble getting that emulator to work, but I'll give this a try

Did you get the emulator to work.

It's been awhile since i first set it up.

I remember it taking awhile to set up the controller.

A screenshot saves as a TIFF image but a TIFF image can't be uploaded to AA

so i used printscreen. And the emulator seems to use alot of power.

It makes my PC disc humm. One of the reasons why i quit on the 3rd race.

I got it to work, which is farther than I got last time.

However, you're right it requires a lot of power. I don't know if my computer can handle it, which is wierd, I have a fairly fast computer, can run iTunes & Stella or NEStopia (or even Fusion) at the same time. It plays but goes so slow, it took about a minute to pass 4 seconds on the timer! I'm also surprised I can't play it on blueMSX. may just have to wait til next round...
