ZylonBane
Well now, no need to rush to call something done when people have barely had a chance to stress test it.

iesposta
How much K do you have left for samples? Here is Fighter Pilots Needed in Sector War clipped at the end. This is in 4K from an 8 bit wav file at 3500 sample rate. Fighter.bin I don't know how you program speech on the 7800, but this is quite simple. Fighter.asm There is a pearl script that outputs the data: (It didn't like the file ending in .pl so I zipped it.) wav2atari.pl.zip
AtariBrian
Any artwork finished for the cart label ?
+Allan
I found a bug. When playing two player the second player got stuck repeating the last wave (meteors? coming strait down) of the first level and the ship docking. It would just keeping repeating these two waves. My son was playing and he didn't mind because he kept racking up points. Allan
Jaynz
I could probably do something for cart and cover artwork. The actual arcade marquee and cabinet art aren't that impressive, though...

PacManPlus
Hi Guys: @iesposta - Listened to your sample - it sounds a little more muffled than the one I'm using. (Thank you though) @Allan - Hey! Thanks for finding that. I'll make sure I can reproduce it and figure it out. @AtariBrian - Yes, there is artwork... just not showing yet. Thanks, Bob

Gabriel
Are the fireballs on the asteroid level appearring with the correct frequency? I was watching a high score video and there never seemed to be a moment where there wasn't a fireball streaking down the screen during the asteroid level. I ask because I get to the end of sector 3 with low fuel and I don't seem to ever get any fireballs to shoot.
PacManPlus
I will double check when I get home.
thevnaguy
this guy is awesome! cant wait for this to release on a cart it will look nice next to my boxed frenzy cart I picked up at PRGE!
PacManPlus
@thevnaguy - Thanks! @Gabriel - try this one; it has more fireballs. AstBlstr.A78 AstBlstr.bin
Jinks
Just one problem. Needs more cowbell!!
Gabriel
That did the trick. I was finally able to barely squeak by on fuel and get to Sector 4, and then die horribly. That little tweak has also made the asteroid field feel a bit more arcade like.
Jaynz
So, I screwed up going for the 'paint scraper' docking bonus and blew up my 1st ship. This resulted in immediate 'game over' despite having the full rack of ships. You don't just lose a life in this case?
Gabriel
Nope. Failed docking or running out of fuel results in a game over regardless of how many ships you have left.
edweird13
Thats the one thing that made this game hard and also great BITD. Its fuel plus lives. Like having a timer with multiple lives.
+Yurkie
Very fun fast paced game! I am playing this on real 7800 hardware. Might loan the socketed pcb to my buddy AtariBrian to do some testing.
+Yurkie
One thing I noticed playing with the Euro pad, is that swapping the left and right buttons would be a huge plus.
+Yurkie
Like I said in the previous post it would be fantastic to be able to swap the buttons on the Euro controller so that button 2 was fire and button 1 was warp. My girlfriend was playing and I asked her and she agreed...she said she loved it and that it reminded her of mega mania. Very cool game. Perhaps use the difficulty switch to swap the fire buttons? +Yurkie
Is Pepper II your next arcade port by chance? I love it on the ColecoVision and I don't think it was ported to any other home consoles.
+Yurkie
This maybe a stupid ? But could you make the game 64k instead of 48k and add more speech?
