godzillajoe #1 Posted December 26, 2013 Anyone else a fan of the show? Was watching The IT Crowd: Manual which was sort of a recap of the series and one of the things that I never noticed was one of the shelves had a stash of Atari 2600 games in beat up boxes that some fans had sent in to enhance the geekiness of the office
Rex Dart #2 Posted December 26, 2013 Yeah, I loved this show. Apparently many of the background objects were donated by fans after season 1 aired. I'm still so disappointed that season 5 never happened.
godzillajoe #3 Posted December 26, 2013 Was there supposed to be a season 5? They wrapped things up pretty nicely with the 1 hour special. The Irish guy (forget his real name) said he'd like to do it again in 10 years after his character and Jen have been married and divorced and are still stuck in the basement doing IT support. nanochess #4 Posted December 26, 2013 (edited) I saw chapters of seasons 1-3 here at Mexico still remembering some of the most comic ones I'll have to wait for it to pass again in order to see the Atari games Edited December 26, 2013 by nanochess

Yeah, there was. The show's creator/writer wasn't going to write it this time around, however, and he eventually just said "**** it" to the whole project. I haven't seen the 1 hour special. I need to hunt it down.
godzillajoe #6 Posted December 26, 2013 Well, if he wasn't going to write it, maybe it's better there wasn't one. The special was called The Last Byte. Worth finding.
Gregory DG #7 Posted December 26, 2013 (edited) KLAX?! Wow! Also, there's a 2600 (and I think Atari 800 computer) in there too. Edited December 26, 2013 by Gregory DG
godzillajoe #8 Posted December 26, 2013 There's a whole mess of old computers including the legendary ZX-80 Spectrum on one of the shelves. That system was pretty huge in the UK was it not?

Sure was. I remember seeing an Altair 8800 on the shelves in a later season, too. edit: Edited December 26, 2013 by Rex Dart
godzillajoe #10 Posted December 26, 2013 From the Centre Of Computing History: Other computers on the set include a CGL Sord M5, Oric Atmos, Amstrad CPC 464, Commodore 64, a homebrew Sinclair ZX81 (on top of the Altair 8800), Atari 2600 games console, Commodore PET, Apple Mac Plus, ZX Spectrum +2, the main PCB of an Acorn Atom and a ZX Spectrum Plus in its original box and various others around the set ... Lynxpro #11 Posted December 27, 2013 They had Atari 8-Bit computer posters on the walls during S1. Later episodes had either a Heavy or Light Sixer visible.
Mayhem #12 Posted December 27, 2013 I was always trying to spot what was on the shelves during the episodes heh. And paying attention to Roy's shirts, they were often videogame related (such as the screen 256 Pac-Man design).
+Atari_Warlord #13 Posted December 30, 2013 This show was hilarious. There is a similiar show on TBS called "Ground Floor" that has a similiar vibe.
