Toy Bizzare

Recommended Posts

I saw an Activision patch on eBay called "Toy TroubleShooters." I was racking my brain as to what game that was for. I did some research and see it was for a game called "Toy Bizzare," but can't find any info on it. Was that a more recent game? Any screen shots or ROM available?

I know they had it for C64 and Spectrum computers...I don't think it was ever even attempted for the 2600 (at least not anything I have ever heard mentioned). IIRC, this game came much later on, after the 2600 had long since started its' decline.

Yes, same Mark Turmell that went on to make NBA Jam. And yes, Toy Bizarre is a C64 game. It's the only C64 specific Activision patch that was made. It used to be the hardest to find, until a cache of them was discovered in the last 2-3 years.

Toy Bizarre has long been suspected to be a game that was started, but never finished, for the A8 line. I believe that there's a corresponding gap to Toy Bizarre in Activision's game numbering for the A8s as well, and it certainly wouldn't surprise me if a proto was ultimately found for this. I haven't heard of a port for the 2600, but who knows?

I can't imagine this working very well on the 2600... now the 7800 on the other hand...... I can see easily handling that game. I had it on the C=64, and absolutely loved it.
