AtariGeezer #1 Posted December 28, 2013 Looking for the above... Just received a Trak AT-D2 that I bought on ebay, it powered up for a few minutes, now nothing. After smacking it a few times it came up shortly with a "C2" Diagnostic Code. If anyone has the original disks, please let me know... Thanks, Jay
MrMartian #2 Posted December 28, 2013 The Trak drives don't show diagnostic codes, the track display is only that, and driven by hardware.. The C2 would only be because the display counter is zeroed by the track zero sensor.. I would check voltages first, make sure 5v and 12v are good, and then if you have a spare 8031/8051 try swapping that out...
AtariGeezer #3 Posted December 28, 2013 I took it apart and the voltages are good, the cable from the front board to the main board was loose. Now when you turn it on the display goes from 99 to 00. When trying to read a disk the LED's switch from SD to DD, so I think the CPU is ok. Inside the user manual, there was a repair ticket stating that the WD1772 might be bad, but doesn't say it was fixed. I am now looking through my 8-bit drives and old computers for a WD1772...
