retroillucid #101 Posted January 12, 2014 Maybe the best would simply to wait till Team Pixelboy release new games, then he could have a new design printed Otherwise, I would be happy to help if required

youki #103 Posted January 12, 2014 Despite my love for the CBS style, I would prefer to see a Team Pixelboy style box to match the cart and manual. I can understand that , i have been also disapointed to see that the manual does not match the box. But in other way, the packaging is now like that and it makes it unique . When i buy a game even if i don't like the box style or artwork , i don't change it. It makes no sense to me. i don't know how to say, but it would be like buy cosmic avenger in CBS Style and then change the box with a 'teampixelboy' style . I mean , sorry it is hard to explain because of my english, it sound strange for a collector. You, kind of , modify the original product. In the past, i was collecting Cars and the most important thing we were looking for when we bought a old car it was that the car was the most in its original state. No modification or customization. It would decrease the value.
nanochess #104 Posted January 13, 2014 I couldn't resist putting here a picture of my Mecha-8 cartridge BTW if I remember right only the first batch will have the transparent blue cartridges, next one would be in no-color transparent cartridges.
NIAD #105 Posted January 14, 2014 I couldn't resist putting here a picture of my Mecha-8 cartridge As good as the box, manual and cart look in the picture you posted, THE ACTUAL GAME IS EVEN BETTER! Simply put from playing it for a couple of minutes as I just received the game.... WOW!!!

Simply put from playing it for a couple of minutes as I just received the game.... WOW!!! Thanks, Jim! This game is the result of five months developing for MSX and another six months exclusively for Colecovision

Simply put from playing it for a couple of minutes as I just received the game.... WOW!!! I second that! OTG's games are mind-blowing. Insane. Utterly transforming. The games that nanochess develops are 100% on-par with what would have taken Coleco Industries to the next level of home-entertainment. And I, as a collector and classic-game enthusiast, am happy to own a truly transformative game that places my gaming system in the top-10 of all-time 8-bit game playing goodness!!! Whether it came out in '84, '85, '86, or '14... it's here and now, and I love it more than I love Gun.Smoke, ounce for ounce!

Pixelboy #109 Posted January 14, 2014 Does anyone here know if a guy named Bryan Gruszka is a member on these boards? If so, what's his AA username? I get e-mails from him but I'm not sure he's receiving my replies. Any help would be welcome.
Kiwi #110 Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) I finally got Mecha-8 and Module Man. I had a chance to try them both. Mecha-8 is impressive. Even without the SGM expansion module, the game sounds great. Excellent graphics and looks great on the TV screen! I got killed at the 2nd boss, but I'll get him tomorrow when I gain enough sleep. Module Man, once I understood the controls, physics, and the way to attack enemies, I had a blast playing this game. I really love exploration game and discovery type of game. The randomization is a big one I love about this game because it made the game fresh every time. I managed to find the sword and return it to the king without dying. I got over 30,000 points. I'm happy with this game and I hope Mystery Man continue making games for the Colecovision. I do enjoy playing his games, also playing nanochess game as well. imstarryeyed #111 Posted January 15, 2014 I got all of the games in and tried them out. I really enjoy playing Mecha-8 , it sure is fun to play. Module Man is fun but I am still getting used to the physics but I am enjoying it. The Black Onyx seems like such a big game so I only tried it out for a little bit. Its amazing to see such a deep RPG that is turn based on a Colecovision! I cannot play Buck Rogers yet but I am hoping to get a SGM in the future. I have to say I am enjoying the Rebel Assault game, it is like the Atari 2600 version only so much better! The addition of the Tie Fighters and goals to end the waves adds so much to this game. The tow cables are such a great addition. My only critique is that I cannot seem to stop and hover in mid air like I can on the 2600 version. Is it possible to stop in mid air facing the AT-AT and fire away? I always seem to be moving which makes it a bit frustrating for me. I would also have the repair pod pull you down onto it as I find landing on it a difficult task which seems to be should be pretty easy. Perhaps my controllers are not up to the task. The games once again are just excellent and another great addition to the Colecovision library.

To answer your question : No sorry, you can not stop in mid air facing the AT-AT and Fire... you can stop in mid air (going to stationary position , but you can not fire in that position). i wanted the player to be permently in move to add some "tension" in the gameplay. And in the film i don't think the ship is able to do that? you can land on the echo base (and only here , not as in the 2600 version where you can land where you want i think) to repair . To land more easily ,if you don't manage with the controller, you can press the '1' key of controller, it will place the ship in stationary position and you can land .
imstarryeyed #113 Posted January 16, 2014 Youki, . I completely understand your spec for the game and it does indeed add a more movie like feel. The waves you set up are excellent, it really makes me feel the game is so less "hopeless" like I do on the atari. Adding the auto fire was great,as I really hated hitting the fire button a million times to kill an At-At on the 2600 ha ha. Thank you for the landing tip, the one game manual I didn't read because like a fool I thought I I knew how to play. It really is emphasizes what many of us felt for so long... how incomplete the original game felt until I played this version. I hope you can convert/improve other games in the future .
youki #114 Posted January 16, 2014 It really is emphasizes what many of us felt for so long... how incomplete the original game felt until I played this version. I hope you can convert/improve other games in the future . I wanted add lot of more. I had lot of idea but i did not manage to put them inside the 32k. Mainly because as must have i wanted include the digital voice. But sure keeping the same "base" we can do lot of better with more resource. But as other knows , i like the 32k "challenge". even if sometimes it is frustrating . Mainly if you compare to game using 128k like Mecha 8.
Pixelboy #115 Posted January 28, 2014 Just wanted to mention that: 1) I have one single copy left of Princess Quest. Once that copy is sold, the game will be permanently sold out. 2) I have 5 copies left of Quest for the Golden Chalice, and again, once those are sold, the game will be permanently sold out. 3) I have 3 copies left of Mecha-8 and 6 copies left of Buck Rogers Super Game. I may make more copies of those two games later this year (depends on the general demand, really) but those new copies will come with uncolored transparent cartridge shells, unlike the few I have left in stock right now. And as always, I operate on a first-come-first-served basis. Better hurry!

Pixelboy #119 Posted January 28, 2014 Yes, it's now official: Princess Quest is now officially sold out! How long before Quest for the Golden Chalice is also gone for good? There are only 4 copies left!
SiLic0ne t0aD #120 Posted January 29, 2014 Quest for the Golden Chalice is awesome, as is Princess Quest. Sure glad I already got my copies! Both the cream of the crop as far as CV homebrew games. I hope to get Ninja Princess soon to, that one looks fun. Wish there were more videos on YouTube of the gameplay.. Oh well.
Pixelboy #121 Posted January 29, 2014 I'm down to one single copy of Mecha-8 (with transparent blue cartridge), 2 copies of Quest for the Golden Chalice and 4 copies of Buck Rogers Super Game (with transparent brown cartridge). I think I should also mention that I currently have only a few copies left of my older SGM titles. To be more precise: - 2 copies of Dragon's Lair - 5 copies of Zaxxon Super Game - 4 copies of King's Valley - 2 copies of Thexder Please keep in mind that I may produce more copies of any and all SGM games in the future (including Mecha-8 ) so technically, those games are not close to being permanently sold out. I also have 8 copies left of Module Man, by the way.
