[Vectrex] How to remove power knob safely

Please I need to know how to remove the power knob safely, to put it in another working machine.

Pull the Vectrex power knob straight out. The power knob is merely press-fitted into place on the the power switch volume control shaft.

 

To reinstall simple push the know back into place on the other Vectrex power switch volume control shaft.

Thanks. I was really hoping for such simple solution. What was causing trouble in my case was that a thin piece of plastic shaped like the D letter inside the knob remained on the shaft...
