Is Atarimax still in business?

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Quick question! Is Atarimax still in business? I ordered a new PRO system from him last week, and haven't heard anything back. Was wondering if he closed up shop.

Gee, I sure hope not...

thanks!

Yup, still in business, just takes a little bit w/ the email responses. I got my 2 flash carts the other day. Turn around time wasn't bad at all.

Give him time. I had the same issue about a month or do ago with a MyIDEII I ordered. I heard nothing for a week or two, and then he emailed with an apology and I got my item in two days. I think he is just busy is all.

Same as eightbit, it went a few weeks with no response to emails and then I get a shipping confirmation and apology for delay, 2 days later my stuff arrived in perfect condition as always. The products are worth that kinda wait for me :)

I just ordered 5 flash carts before the end of the year and got them in a week or two.

I wouldn't worry about it, he replied to a tech support email of mine on New Year's Day!

I'm still waiting for an order I placed on Jan 1st. No order confirmation and no responses to any of my emails. Needless to say, I'm losing faith very quickly.

Strange, but I would not lose my faith in Steve very soon. He's a great guy, and indeed the last months he has been around, and not around. I would arrange such things a little bit different, but in the end he always shows up again.

Most people here in Atari-land are very kind and trustworthy. I have been buying stuff from guys from Poland (simius, stryker, candle) all perfect! I have bought several items from Panos, MegaHz, Abbuc; all perfect! I have bought bunches of atari related items over the years from Steven Tucker (Atarimax)… everything perfect.

No … i can not say I have had a lot bad experiences. None with the persons/shops mentioned above. They all rock, and I hope they will all stay in atari business for a very very very long time.

I have sent items to Steve that he never got because he was busy and missed it or the item came back to me repeatedly as undeliverable... whoever is suppose to accept the package must of been busy or whatever.. once I got ahold of him Steve was so darn nice he sent me the replacement anyway. Trust me Atarimax always comes thru even when most people would not.... Any delay you encounter is ALWAYS made up for in costumer service and knowledge. If there is a problem it's got to be a real deal for Steve not to help.. he tirelessly helps the entire community with some very excellent work products and insight. I was working on a project he put endless hours into answerring my questions... He was travelling down the road and handling me and his two other projects at the same time. The man is dedicated and has never failed myself or anyone I have known since he first started his bussiness. He's litterally that busy most of the time, the fact he does any Atari stuff at all is amazing. He even helps others produce products and gives them parts to make devices to further the 8 bit community. I would be more worried about his health and well being than anything else. He is a classic good guy.

That's a very nice thing to say, about Steve (Atarimax)! It's also quite accurate! Not only is he one of the most innovative and professional fellows in the business, he's also one of the nicest and most reliable people that I have ever dealt with in my entire life, and I have had *several* dealings with him.

I'm sorry to hear of any delay, but he *is* the real deal, and he will come through, if in the face of some immediate difficulties.

I've been dealing with him since 2006, and he's always been great to deal with. Hopefully everything is OK with him, but no worries, you will get exactly what you paid for.

Posted this yesterday but for some reason it's not here any more. :???:

I received my order on the 21st. Three weeks to the day.

Folks, nobody here is questioning whether Steve is a stand-up guy who makes incredible products that are worth waiting three weeks (or longer) for. I've ordered many things from him in the past. The products, shipping times and communication were always outstanding.

But this recent experience was very different. I paid for an order but received no confirmation, no responses to emails and no shippping notification. We can all agree this is not typical for him.

My previous post stating I was "losing faith" in Steve was a poor choice of words on my part. I have the utmost faith in Steve Tucker. Perhaps, I should have said that due to his atypical lack of communication, I was worried that my order was never processed.

His atypical lack of communication may be due to his health, as far as I know he was relatively recently hospitalized for who knows what reasons, so maybe someone close to him may shed a light to his situation. In any case I wish him good health and even though I never dealt with him in a business transaction, I've never heard anything negative about his business either.. so patience may be "just what the doctor ordered" in this case (no pun intended).

There was a forum problem ( a lockup? a crash? ) ... anyway I guess Albert had to reboot the Board, or put a backup back or whatever... anyway content of a few hours is lost.
