Playing music in an Action! program

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any examples playing music in Action!? I've looked at CMC, but can't quite figure out how to use it in Action!.

The problem is that the replay routine and sound modules are typicall bound to specific address and these addresses are somewhere in your DOS/Action!/source ($700,$2000, $8000/$8400).

What I did is create a small assembler project that put the initialization, player and sound into a single file and the then loaded from disk to a certain address.

Is there a better way for me to add music to my game?

I was playing around with VBIs in action and I did get that working. :-)

If you have the tune, I can provide you with the version that you can use in ACTION! (Links itself into the VBI).

DEFINE
  ADDRPLA="$2000",ADDRMUS="$3000"

SET $E=ADDRPLA
SET $491=ADDRPLA

Compile it from file.
