So, even if there were original-looking shells available you'd still want to use the 3D-printed shell?

I've had mine for a while and I cut a slot for the microSD-card in the beginning of this week - as I had just finished a haul over on the Vectrex. Previously I have been using it without shell and the shell safely stored away. But I decided it was time.

 

Maybe two mm wide and the length is slightly more than the card, push it right with a screwdriver, or other thin object - another card for example and it will bounce right out. Push it the wrong way and you either grab it with a tweezer or pliers - unless you try it again.

There aren't that much new software, even unscrewing it a couple of times per year can't be that difficult.

 

But I understand, the 3D print is better suited, personally I still like the look of the previous version better despite being less user friendly.

Although in my case, I have everything on there anyhow... and I use the VecFlash I have for trying out test ROMs on real hardware

I have a shell from this buy and your cart fit in without me having to file anything. It's a tight fit, but it fit. I don't add games often but I do see how that could be tedious.

Update : Due to a bit of a mix-up (nothing to do with me), the UK/EU cart shells have been delayed slightly. They should arrive with me around the 1st of May.

For one of my VecMulti carts I just modded the shell to add a slot. Then performed a mod to the the micro SD card in order to lengthen it a little for extraction and insertion. Problem solved.

 

But I like your custom shell too.

Shells in UK now. I just have to pay import duties and they should arrive with me next week.
