Colecovision problem: system not reading controllers correctly?

Hey guys, I need you! For some reason, my CV isn't reading input from controllers correctly. Everything worked fine very recently, but now, after setting it up for a play session, the controllers suddenly aren't responding correctly. The asterisk and many other keys don't respond. The problem is identical across all 3 controllers I've tried it with.

 

I've hooked the system up in two different rooms, suspecting a possible voltage issue, but the effect is the same. Resetting doesn't fix it either.

 

Have you seen this problem before?

Likely either the controller chip, or a loose/broken controller port pin.

I looked inside the Player 1 controller port, and all 9 pins are there and look seemingly normal. Are there any physical signs I should look for?
