DaytonaUSA #1 Posted January 11, 2014 Hey guys, I guess my Dreamcasts are officially... retro. Their age has started to show, as now both of my remaining Rev 0 model Dreamcasts have dead batteries. I guess it's not the end of the world to do the date and time during boot up, but it's kind of annoying. I know how to change the Saturn's battery, which is pretty easy, but I have no idea how to change the Dreamcast's battery, nor what kind of battery it even is. (FYI, I don't need help opening a Dreamcast, I know how to do that much. I just don't know what to do after I get to the battery )

Austin #5 Posted January 11, 2014 The Date/Time battery in mine has been dead since I got it. Way back in December 2001. Yeah, these things never lasted very long for me. In both my Saturn and Dreamcasts, bought new, they were dead in the first year or two of owning the systems. As a result I don't bother with the replacements, I will just have to keep replacing them as the years go on and it's more trouble than it's worth. I can deal with pressing "left then A" whenever I boot my Dreamcast up.
DaytonaUSA #6 Posted January 12, 2014 http://atariage.com/forums/topic/198160-ball-knob-mod-7800-controllers-dreamcast-cart-batteries-jan-2014/ Good to know. Although to think of shipping there and back just for a battery mod, and for two systems no less ....hmm.. not sure if it's worth it. I really need to learn how to soder, haha.
