Atari Bartop Arcade Cabinet

Nice job - only thing I would change is adding a bit more flair to the marquee over the top. The white background with black lettering is a bit boring for such a colorful machine!

Ha! I was gonna say the opposite...I'd have made the marquee black with white letters to match the sides, and that would be even more boring!

Very nice piece!

Very awesome. The only thing I would have done extra, would be to make the cabinet a little taller, add an arcade control panel with Sanwa parts, and an arcade Atari spinner modified into the paddle control. The fire button on the paddle would be left if I remember correctly, and you can make it all one port without needing to unplug the cable.

I was going to suggest something similar—real arcade parts. I’d probably try to also work in button layouts for Asteroids and maybe even Decathlon/Track&Field. I’d also make sure there was a clean and easy way to connect standard CX-40’s to play games like Frostbite that suck with arcade controls.

Very neat project nonetheless!

I like it!. The most obvious thing you need is a Harmony cartridge. If the Atari is going to be shown, swap out the 4 switch woody for a Vader model. It will look better in that table top. Otherwise, I would build the guts of the Atari inside the cabinet and put the switches under the monitor. Then use some arcade joystick, button and spinner for the controls built into the cabinet.
