how to remove keys from 65xe keyboard?

hi.

i get a 65xe from a trash dump, when i connect to the tv, it works!.

now i need to remove the dirt from the keyboard. someone know how to do it?

Looks like you have a keyboard assembly with a folded mylar foil, as it has no conductive caps on the underside of the keys.

If that's actually the case, you can remove the dirt on the top keyboard assmbly shown on your foto's by simply putting it in warm water with some dishwashing soap. Leave it there to soak in for an hour, and the dirt should wipe off easily. Alternatively you could try cleaning it in the dishwasher, but in my experience the plastic Atari used on the XE models is very soft, and will probably deform from the heat.

The metal bottom plate and mylar foil are best cleaned with a damp cloth. Be careful with the foil, the electric traces are very flimsy. Only one cut trace will render the keyboard useless.
