I have changed a litle bit ULTIMATE set available at my www. Since today, all are equipped with different cables.

 

FEMALE IDC PLUG <--> DIL/IDC ADAPTER.

Also, colour of PCB has changed - from BLACK to WHITE. JTAG connector will not be soldered, as it`s raster (2mm) made to many hassle as goldpins in 2.54 are more common.

Bit cheeky leaving the JTAG connector off, but I DO like the white PCB and right-angle IDC headers. Should make clearance issues a thing of the past.

I will be ordering this if it part of the combo set. Has Candle finalized the latest xx.jed change he was talking about in the other thread. To be able to flash from the Fat portion of the CF card.

Looks very cool indeed... right angled connectors are my favorite update, will make installation a lot more flexible for sure

In addition to the 90 deg. header pins, he is going back to the original type mobo connectors that were used in the V1 by Candle?

Just looking at the picture of the new ultimate board. Since there is no key to fit the cable IDC MALE to female cable is the #'s 1 and 2 correct for both the MMU and OS socket..

RED STRIPE on female cables always indicate PIN 1 :-)

 

on dil adapters - also :-)

WIll it be possible to only "buy" the cables?

For people like me that have the old version. (although it seems like you dropped the unused pins from the BIOS cable so it may not be possible after all)

 

I assume it would be easier to fit this kind of cables in an XEGS, rather than the slightly oversized adapters + cables.
