vintagegamecrazy #26 Posted July 27, 2017 It's only taken three years to sink in as to just how special of a find that this was when it turned up in a Goodwill. This is most certainly the rarest thing I've found in the wild asides from a random NES prototype back in the day. I'm just happy to own such an important piece of history. I also can actually say that I own every US system released in the 1970s as I also own ever so rare Unisonic Champion 2711 as well.
bradhig1 #27 Posted July 27, 2017 Would the European PC 50x's display the wrong colors in the US ? I thought about importing one.
vintagegamecrazy #28 Posted July 28, 2017 Probably will either not display at all or just scroll without an expensive adapter.
stupus #29 Posted July 28, 2017 It would probably display black and white with no sound. And possible roll and scramble depending on the ntsc tv you use.
CatPix #30 Posted July 29, 2017 (edited) I believe that the coloring chips used in those systems are specific to the US and Europe, so they probably output PAL and NTSC directly. It mean that you'll need to do a A/V mod on it and have a TV able to display PAL 50 htz. Note that we also have several black and white models. As for sounds, I'd say 95% of the PC-50* systems I heard of output sound from a speaker, so on that part at least you won't have anything to do. How many of these are out there now?
CatPix #36 Posted May 13, 2018 cheapo? I know it's not common, but it's a Pong
stupus #37 Posted May 14, 2018 Cheapo to me....Wish I had seen it i would have happily paid much more. And it's pong but 1 with carts...which in the US is very uncommon
vintagegamecrazy #38 Posted May 14, 2018 It's a pong yes, but very very rare. As of now there seems to be around only five known units known for now.
Dashopepper #39 Posted January 5, 2020 Just picked one up in a lot of computers. Missing a joystick and the cartridge though.
vintagegamecrazy #40 Posted January 9, 2020 What a shame that that's missing so much. Still pretty cool to find something so rare though. If you want to sell it I would be interested in it if the joystick is in good condition.
