Hardware requirements for SIO to parallel printer MPP

I am trying to connect to a standard centronics 8 bit parallel printer thru a MPP-1150 but I don't have instructions for the MPP interface and I haven't been on the atari since 1987.

 

The other printer requires a strobe signal in order to init and time each other in addition to 47k pull ups to half the connections. I can deal with that within the wiring connectors but I don't have a clue as to set up the connection. It seems like I would set it up like a modem and It makes sense.

 

Anyone that may have a direction to push me that would be great..

What Atari are you running? As I recall, the 1200xl won't support powering peripherals on the SIO bus.
