dubxcube #1 Posted February 7, 2014 I was able to hook up my 2600 to one of my HDTVs with a coaxial/rf adapter and got a significant amount of static and scrolling. On my other- slightly older- HDTV I was able to get a beautiful clear picture, but no sound. Why no sound? Any suggestions?
ls650 #2 Posted February 7, 2014 I don't know the exact answer but I would be interested in seeing other answers. I read negative comments all the time about LCD TVs, yet I use various RF-coax all the time with my cheapie Dynex TV and it has great picture and sound. Rex Dart #3 Posted February 8, 2014 Does either set claim to be analog NTSC-compatible?
dubxcube #4 Posted February 8, 2014 Not that I'm aware of, but I'll take a look. By now, the manuals are long gone- but info might be on the labeling on the back of the sets
dubxcube #5 Posted February 8, 2014 Nothing on the back with an indication about NTSC or otherwise
dubxcube #6 Posted February 8, 2014 The newer tv with all the static interference at least had some sound if you turned it up quite a bit- but the static noise overpowered it
dubxcube #7 Posted February 10, 2014 Hmmm... I usually see way more responses to issues about hook king Ataris up. Perhaps this should be in a different forum on here?
Rex Dart #8 Posted February 10, 2014 Do you have access to a CRT you can test the console with? Could be the console's fault.
dubxcube #9 Posted February 10, 2014 Unfortunately I don't. Nor do I know anyone locally that I could so that with. It did produce sound on my main TV set- just was overpowered by the static interference
