Retro Gamer is the only one I can find on the newsstands. Not surprisingly it has information on the Europeon consoles and games I never got to see. I remember British game companies and mags seeping with confused attitude toward the American market when I was young. None of that nowadays.

Habe seit zwei Ausgaben die RETURN abonniert. Sehr schön gemacht und variantenreich. Prima Klolektüre.

I read mostly the originals, Zzap 64, Antic, ASM, Atari User, Tele Match, C&VG, EGM, CGW, EG and many others. Still own approx 2000 original magazines from way back (down from 5000 since I sold and trashed many). I can read books, magazines at work which is a bonus.

 

But also buy the German RG ( although they print the mistakes made in the English RG without any research/ corrections) and sometimes the British RG on ebay (two years ago I sold my almost complete RG collection which had all extras still included).

Ich wusste nicht dass es verfügbar war in deutscher Sprache.

If possible I prefer to read the Retro Gamer in English, although the German issues do contain some original content. And RETURN is a must-have, of course! Power Play will not be continued the way it was.

I just read (real) retro magazines from back then like TeleMatch, Electronic Games Magazine, Analog Computing. I bought a few of the newer retro ones, but I don't like the stylish layout at all, for example german Retro Gamer. Ughhh.

Das mit der CHIP PowerPlay hat sich ja leider erledigt - siehe Editioral in der neuen RetroGamer (D)!

Schade eigentlich, das Magazin hatte doch einen besseren Bezug zu "lokalen" Themen. Die RetroGamer kommt immer

noch ziemlich britisch daher.

Habe mich noch um keine Magazine gekümmert, aber werde mir jetzt die oben genannten einmal unter die Lupe nehmen.

Ich war und bin immer zu sehr beschäftigt, Flohmärkte, Läden und Privatpersonen abzuklappern

Just got a UK micro mart, they still have a Retro (Retro Mart) page and an Amiga (Amiga Mart) page every week.

Ich finde die Return richtig gut gemacht, Hut ab. Eigentlich sogar besser als RetroGamer, schon alleine weil D.I.Y. ^^

Apropos deutsche Zeitschriften, hat jemand einen Link zu deutschen PDFs für den TI-99/4A?

Die neue deutsche retrogamer 1/2015 ist übrigens eine Enttäuschung. 12,90 € für schlecht lokalisierte UK-Texte sind einfach zuviel. Reichlich -schlecht lesbarer, da zu klein geschriebener- Text mit vielen Bildern, aber wenig interessante Themen (ordentlich: der Telegames-Artikel).

Die CHIP PowerPlay war da besser!

Retro Gamer magazine is awesome, or at least was when I was into it about six years ago. I'm in the USA and it's on shelves here, I used to buy it at the train station. It's heavy on Nintendo legacy (they did a huge special when DK Country Returns came out), but also get into British 80s home computing quite a bit.
