ApolloBoy #1 Posted March 8, 2003 I moded my Atari 2600 Jr. today so that it would use A/V cables. I followed all the instructions, and when I turned it on, all I got was a rolling screen, but I got good audio. Did I do something wrong?

+Mitch #5 Posted March 9, 2003 Have you tried running it through a vcr? Mitch
ApolloBoy #6 Posted March 9, 2003 No. Why do you ask?
slapdash #7 Posted March 12, 2003 Also, I don't have an answer, but you might want to ask this in the hardware forum here, or the Restoration (Forum Du Jour) one on http://www.digitpress.com/forums since they're more specific to hardware hacks. +Mitch #8 Posted March 12, 2003 No. Why do you ask? It sounds like your TV can't handle the weak video signal from the 2600. The VCR amplifies the signal. Some TV's can accept the weaker signal others have the problem as you described. Mitch
ApolloBoy #9 Posted March 13, 2003 Well, it's too late now. I already de-soldered everything I did, put the Atari back together, and hooked it back up to the switchbox. However, I put a gold RCA-to-RF adapter into an RF-to-RCA adapter, then plugged all that into the Atari's RF port. It has a much better picture now.
