ballyalley
I became too adddicted to Crossfire and didn't spend a lot of time on Chomper and Caterpiggle [...] Caterpiggle wouldn't load on the AtariMax cartridge.. Crossfire is great fun. I've found that sitting in the middle of the screen and just holding the button down allows me to stay in one place. Then I can press the joystick controller in the direction that I want to fire without having to hit the joystick button again. The only time I move my guy is to avoid baddies and their shots. I've been playing all three 'C' games on my AtariMax with an original Atari VCS joystick on my 8Mb AtariMax cart using an NTSC XEGS. Here's the Catterpiggle xex that I've been using. I hope it helps you out. caterpiggle.zip
adam242
(later this afternoon) Caterpiggle - 113,430 It's always a pleasant surprise how awesome some of these early (pre-XL) games really are... No fancy programming tricks (none of these three even use DLIs for more color), just great gameplay. Oh, and for Crossfire, I'm even running "real software"... I've got the cart! +slx
What lousy graphics, this could have been an Odyssey 2 game..... well, pretty hard, though. I seem to be too slow for that kind of barrage coming from all sides... I got to see what happens after I have cleared them all off.... Crossfire 2360 Won't be my favorite but way tougher than it looks. And you seem to be able to run out of Ammo.... Caterpiggle 12640 What is this, Pac-Man for the maze-challenged? (Make note never to miss HSC voting again. Didn't like Pac-Man even in the 80s....) Sorry if I missed any twist that there is to this. Chomper 2800 (all NTSC/emulated) You can collect extra ammo on Crossfire grab the dots when they appear. I try and stay near the bottom middle, moving after each shot to another column and row if you have one along-side. Try and let them come to your lines if they are already on, otherwise take them out as soon as they move onto the edge slots Chomper is new to me (same guy who did Montezuma's Revenge?); looks like the logic is the unique feature here - they seem to guard the dots! Yes be sure to vote everyone and make your suggestions on the Play List too. The "D Games" poll will start tomorrow morning
ballyalley
I thought that I'd already posted these scores... but I can see that I haven't: Caterpiggle: 19,720 Chomper: 9,610 Crossfire: 3,730 Of these games I think that Crossfire is my favorite. Since I can't turn the tables on the baddies in Chomper it's not as interesting to me.

McKong
Very impressive McKong! Any tricks? Count the shots so that you know when the reload is going to appear. The reload appears in a position opposite to your own, so get yourself into a position so that the reload appears in a safer location. It's a difficult game, it took me a lot of practice to get a decent score

There will be a couple of chances to catch-up for the odd missed round later in the season Crossfire - I persevered with the dual controls and got to the point where I think the extra men could have kept you going indefinitely - wasn't sure it got much harder after a certain point but I could be wrong. The keyboard for firing and joystick for moving really helps as you don't accidentally move into their bullets 59,630 Chopmer 28,100 "D" Games Vote
