scalpel #1 Posted March 1, 2014 I DO love this game. Do you think it's possible to create H.E.R.O. for Intellivision ? Who could do it ?

scalpel #3 Posted March 1, 2014 Yes Jason, you're right. But I would like to play the original game with our console. May be Groovy could do it ??
+GroovyBee #4 Posted March 1, 2014 Wasn't Groovy Bee's Rescue on Terra 5 game a H.E.R.O. clone? No! Terra 5 does not play anything like HERO .
JasonlikesINTV #5 Posted March 1, 2014 In my defense, I've never actually played H.E.R.O.
+cmart604 #6 Posted March 1, 2014 In my defense, I've never actually played H.E.R.O. Lol! I guess it's also a safe bet to assume that even if you had played it, there was very little chance you'd read the instruction manual?

+GroovyBee #9 Posted March 1, 2014 It'd be a good project for somebody wanting to do something in IntyBASIC. The HERO maps are right here on AA :- https://atariage.com/2600/archives/HEROMaps/HERO_Level01.html Personally, I don't think it'd take very long to get a bare bones engine going in IntyBASIC.
scalpel #10 Posted March 1, 2014 I do agree, I think it could be easy to do it. Could be fun to create different maps for a H.E.R.O. II For sure David Harley and Arnauld Chevallier could create a lot of levels and maps (reference with Super BT and Stonix !). May be, they could work again in this project ? Or someone else ?? +save2600 #11 Posted March 1, 2014 A H.E.R.O. II would be cool - but another port of a game that can be played already across other systems?
scalpel #12 Posted March 1, 2014 A H.E.R.O. II would be cool - but another port of a game that can be played already across other systems? I agree. That's why it could be absolutely AMAZING to create H.E.R.O. II for Mattel Intellivision !
LidLikesIntellivision #13 Posted March 1, 2014 H.E.R.O. was my favorite game for the 2600! I played over and over and I still would love to play again in an Intellivision! Different levels would be cool too. Even in an original H.E.R.O., maybe it's possible to make a game variation #2 and then you have to go all the way up (holding the miner?) without time or with a new full time bar...
dcasa #14 Posted March 1, 2014 Back in the 90s my dad and I almost purchased this game under the assumption that it was an Intellivision title, fortunately I examined the cart before leaving the store and realized the size was wrong... did the box even specify on which console the game was intended to be played? JasonlikesINTV #15 Posted March 2, 2014 Question.....Which console had the best port of H.E.R.O.
LidLikesIntellivision #16 Posted March 2, 2014 Question.....Which console had the best port of H.E.R.O.All versions are similar.I guess the analogic stick of the 5200 makes the game more interesting but I never tried it...
JasonlikesINTV #17 Posted March 2, 2014 Hmmm, I have the Atari 2600, Atari 7800, and Colecovision consoles. Maybe I'll try pick up the Coleco version.
scalpel #18 Posted March 2, 2014 I have the Atari 2600 and Colecovision versions. I prefer the Atari 2600 version. The Colecovision graphics are not great for this version.
+GroovyBee #19 Posted March 2, 2014 A very rough mock-up of what the Inty version could look like :- <---- Click to enlarge My craptastic programmer art could be much improved by a good pixel artist. The mock isn't using very many GRAM cards so there is plenty of scope for interesting backgrounds. I've allocated 3 MOBs for the player's avatar, which leaves 5 free for moving enemies, shots etc.

It could be really great to do the Number II but, you can't do it.... you have to finish all the other games before

I was born and live in a Brazilian state of "Minas Gerais". We are called "mineiros". What does "mineiro" mean? Miner! I am a miner and need the Intellivision H.E.R.O. desperately! My oxygen is dropping to critical levels.

Oscar G. #23 Posted March 2, 2014 A very rough mock-up of what the Inty version could look like :- Awesome… It is nice to dream about this amazing game ported to the INTV... And after HERO, what about Frostbite? (another Activision classic)
JasonlikesINTV #24 Posted March 2, 2014 I've always wanted to see a good Intellivision port of Solar Jetman. Maybe instead of a jetpack he could have rocket ears?

(another Activision classic) Yes, I am waiting for Frostbite too. A Thin Ice 2 actually. The Duncan Penguin jumping as in Frostbite. A Frostbite with the thin ice theme would be excellent. Or is just me and I'm alone with this dream?
