Mario Kart Arcade Grand Prix Deluxe - has anyone played this?

Recommended Posts

I found a linked set of these at Dave and Busters here in Pittsburgh, PA.

I was wondering what your thoughts are on the game.

I played it... and it felt too slow. It was nice feel to manual drift with a real racing wheel, and loved that tapping the brake started the drift instead of a jump button.

It did feel entirely too slow though. I dunno if they have a ranking system or a way to save games so that you can get upgraded karts, but that's my general consensus. Seems very, very drift/boost heavy on straightaways to make any kind of decent ground.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Is this the new (third) one? I've played the first two, but I haven't seen the latest one yet.

Its the latest one I believe.

Did the other two games feel like that as well?

Everything except relying on boosting through straightaways. I don't recall the previous two depending on that so much.

I shouldn't say that its really necessary... I mean it seems like its the only thing you can do to make the game feel like the console versions of mario kart.

I held down the gas and it felt like I was crawling... No one was gaining on me or anything, the whole game just felt slower. I got bored and started drift boosting on straightaways.

That sounds about right, then. Can you still play as a Tamagotchi?

Not that I found. :(
