Anyone Have A Complete ColecoVision Collection? (-homebrews)

Recommended Posts

Just curious if anyone on AA has a complete ColecoVision collection whether it's CIB or loose carts...minus homebrews (but would be impressed if you have these too)

If you have a complete collection, what were some of the hardest finds?

Also post pix if you have 'em...

What's the total number of carts in a complete ColecoVision collection of original releases anyway? And does that number include label variations?

I've been focusing on ColecoVision collecting for the last several years and I'm hoping that someday I will have a complete collection of original releases.

I've a complete loose cartridge collection :)

Plus some CIB and extras from Telegames.

The hardest to find were Qbert Qubes, Wizard of Id's Wizmath and Super Sketch.

From what I can remember others slightly hard to find were B.C's Quest for Tires, Frenzy, Monkey Academy, Zenji, Slurpy, Threshold, Tuthankham, Spy Hunter and Sammy Lightfoot.

Those should be a piece of cake to get for fairly cheap. Great deals on eBay right now actually, I'd recommend Atari2600.com

Tuthankham is the most difficult to find from what I've seen.

I have 60 carts + homebrews. Browse the members galleries for some nice pics of CV collections. Toby has the sweetest CV collection I've ever seen, it's as complete as it gets IMHO. I certainly don't see anything he doesn't have with the exception of an Xonox game.

I am working on completing a complete loose collection as well. A year or so ago B.C.'s Quest for Tires was hard to find, I see copies often now. I think I bought Frenzy locally early on. Zenji doesn't appear very often at all. (on ebay). I have Tutankham and Spy Hunter as well. (I am pretty sure I over paid to get copies quicker) Montezuma's revenge used to be pretty hard to find as well. (I however have come across a couple copies lately) For some reason Centipede (which I believe is super common ) I still don't own. Atari2600 has a boxed copy but finding a decent priced loose copy is rare. (at least for me) I have Qbert's Qubes. I got a decent price but the label isn't perfect.

Yes. It looks like availability changes per year.

This year I've seen lots of things not available before.

Another thing I did was to avoid ebay as possible to save money and shipping, but still I think I overpaid some cartridges.

From the other similar thread, here is what I came up with...

Here is what I have come up with as far as ORIGINAL/UNIQUE releases for the ColecoVision:

- 129 U.S. releases

- 1 U.S. very limited release (Caterpillar S.O.S.)

- 7 Foreign/Canadian releases (Evolution, Super Action Football/Soccer, 4 Bit Corp. titles, Castelo (but this one might have only been a rom))

- 1 Foreign/Canadian very limited release (Energy Quizz), but info suggests it's a hack of WizMath

- 5 TeleGames releases (Skiing, Amazing Bumpman, Rock'N Bolt, Alcazar, Boulder Dash)

That's a total of 142 original/unique releases made for the ColecoVision thru 1986. Then there are countless variations (U.S., French/Canadian, CBS, TeleGames re-releases, Bootleg, etc.) and numerous Prototype and In-House carts, but these wouldn't be counted in the grand total like this list you linked counts the single and double-ender releases of the Xonox games.

So, I think the club should be named the "129 Club" and then there would be a special addendum to the list to account for the other 13 or 14.

Since I typed that up I have acquired a number of other rarities including two more original Bit Corp. releases, so as far as CIBs that I still need, I am down to Slurpy by Xonox and Strike It by Bit Corp... although this one may never have been released by Bit Corp. I'm to the point where I am reconsidering collecting the French/Canadain releases in CIB form. Pictures of my collection are linked in my SIG, but the CV stuff is very outdated while the ADAM stuff was recently updated.

C.A.T.. in a box! :D

I'll complete my loose cart collection this year I'm sure. It's weird but, my situation seems kind of opposite from you guys, I have some tough ones, (Quest Qubes, Mr. Dos castle, slurpy, spy Hunter, Antarctic adventure, b. C's Quest 1, Frenzy, etc.. Thanks to Tempest on here back in 01 I hot most of those in a trade. (Coke Wins Atari 2600)

I currently need Montezuma's Revenge, Gateway to Apshai, zenji, monkey Academy,.. Super sketch of course. Funny how that works..

However right now I need both CIB Roller Controller and expansion module 2 first.. That's my priority since I have everything else CIB. As far as games, I have them on the SD Cart to hold me over till I get the actual carts.

I have everything except Bit corp Cosmic Crisis and those questionable releases. If anyone wants to sell me a Bit Corp Cosmic Crisis, I'm buying! Also missing 2 dozen or so boxes.

Motocross/Tomarc double ender is a pain to find, in general. Some of the Telegames releases are quite uncommon, like Amazing Bumpman, Skiing and Boulderdash, although the former has seen a bunch for sale recently.

There are a ton of tough scores for CV. Getting down to the last 20 is not that hard, but finishing up those last 20 can require cash and patience.

CV rocks. I need to upgrade to a skip title screen BIOS. That tries my patience.

If you do could you post a picture for us?

Naw, I don't have that- only Telegames. If Bit corp Strike It exists, I'd like proof too, I'd add it to my list.
