Atarian7 #1 Posted March 7, 2014 Are they rare? The ones I got are super responsive. I am almost out-running the bombs on level 8 of Kaboom! because I am used to a very slight delay on my other paddles.
fiddlepaddle #2 Posted March 7, 2014 Clean paddles should react virtually instantly; the only "delay" might come from friction, but the wheel would feel stiff in that case. Jittery paddles occur because of intermittent contact. Unless you're talking about either a PC emulation delay, or a LCD TV delay...

About as rare as the Sears systems. No different in manufacture. You'll just have to adjust your game.
Zwackery #4 Posted March 7, 2014 For whatever reason, Sears branded paddles are easier to find that the original Sears hex disc joysticks. (Maybe this is because people played more joystick games than paddle games and so the sticks got worn out.) I also prefer the original release, or branded, controllers for the increase in quality.
