HEX (Vectrex)

"Hex", a little game I knocked up yesterday.

 

It uses joystick/buttons or a spinner/atari driving controller in port 2.

 

Press 4 on the Vectrex joystick to start.

Hehe yeah I believe my earlier game "Nagoya Attack" had the honour of being the first Vectrex game with music and sfx.

 

 

Hint : For high scores, use a spinner in Port 2

I used an Atari Driving controller, that's the results of my second attempt.

 

I didn't get very far during my first attempt as it kept rotating on its own. I figured out that I needed to wiggle the joystick in port 1 a little bit to stop it from doing that.

Ah, that's a result of a non-centered joystick as I'm using analog controls for the stick. I'll increase the deadzone a bit more next time.

It was the stock Vectrex controller. Possibly the self-centering doesn't work as well as it did 30+ years ago
