Unusual Vader Console

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, wondering if someone can help me out with this vader console ive picked up. Over the years ive seen a lot of atari consoles but ive never seen one like this. This particular vader console has no channel switch, just a cover over the hole. Internally there is provisions for a switch to be there, but it looks like there has never been one (no solder residue). The RF unit is still the original atari one, any info would be helpful, thanks :)

With plenty of later PAL gear, Atari didn't bother with channel switch.

In some cases, the plastics had specific molding so there was no evidence of such deleted items.

In others they inadvertantly used NTSC case parts so you had the hole but no switch.

What the standard fitment on Aus Vaders was - I don't know. Yours looks like the case was designed such that it could be made as is, or have the hole machined out if channel switch was included.
