Sturmwind

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I was thinking on getting Strumwind for the Sega Dreamcast for a while now. Is it a good game? Does anybody have a copy of it and would recommend it?

It's decent. Tough to see what's going on at times, hard to figure out if a background object will hurt you or not, that sort of thing.. Otherwise, the visuals are absolutely stunning for a Dreamcast game. Gameplay itself is good, but it has some issues such as (if I recall correctly, it's been a little while since I played mine) if you charge too long (ala R-Type, Pulstar or Last Hope), your ship blows up. Friggin' retarded design choice if you ask me.

Maybe it best just to get another game instead! I heard about that saying its hard to figure out certain object hitting you at times!

Well, it's clear you like the NG:DEV team stuff.. This is about on the same level, gameplay-wise (at least comparing it to their shmups.. Gunlord is on another level gameplay-wise IMO), with nicer visuals. You will probably enjoy it. It's got a really nice LE package as well if you want to spend more money.

Maybe! I'll think I'll look at it a little more by watching some Youtube vids to judge more of it!

It's pretty good. All of the problems that Austin mentioned are valid criticisms, but it is still a fun game and probably one of the better efforts on DC since the system was discontinued.
