The Official NEO-GEO Thread!

The release date of Samurai Shodown VII (Samurai Spirits 2019) for the Nintendo Switch has been revealed through this week’s Weekly Famitsu. It will be released on December 12th in Japan and its price will be 6345 Yen. It will run at 60 fps and can support single Joy-con per multiplayer.

Early purchases will have a bonus game bundled. A port of Samurai Shodown! 2 for the NeoGeo Pocket. Samurai Shodown! 2 is a NeoGeo Pocket retelling of Samurai Shodown 64-2 (Asura Zanmaden) and was released on April 1999.

UPDATE: SNK has finally released the details of the Switch Version of Samurai Shodown VII.

Deluxe Pack (digital, includes Season Pass) – 8345 Yen
Season Pass 1 (includes four additional characters) – 2000 Yen
Standalone Additional Characters (Rimururu, Basara, Kazuki Kazama, and Wan-Fu) – 600 Yen each

In another Samurai Shodown related news, Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collectionwill be released on Winter in Japan (no specific date yet as of writing). It was announced last March at PAX East and was originally planned to be released in Fall.

Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection is a compilation of All Six Samurai Shodown Games from the NeoGeo.
