They also have another MVS with KOF 98, but I'm not spending 100 yen to play that when I can go home and play it for free on my AES! They also have Blazing Star, but I felt like using my last coin for DoDonPachi. I ended up getting 5th place in DoDonPachi somehow, too, so I'm happy. I also realized that there is an arcade cabinet in BEEP, and not only is it set to play for free, but it's Thunder Force AC and now I have the top score on the machine! Speaking of arcades... last month I found someone's abandoned (presumably never finished) DIY arcade machine at Goodwill thrift store for $20 and I already have one of my MVS boards inside. It was in terrible shape and completely gutted except for the wide-screen (yuck!) LCD monitor and Suzo-Happ control panel with USB encoder. I'm supposed to take delivery of two new-old stock arcade CRT monitors today so I can get started cleaning this up and making a proper arcade cabinet out of it. The poor condition was more because of the workmanship than how it was treated. Example: instead of routing a slot for the T-molding, they cut the rib off the T-molding and used nails and glue to tack it on. That obviously didn't work right! No wonder multiple edges are missing the T-molding. Another example: instead of finding a proper way to secure the marquee, they just nailed it in, cracking the corners. There are several other examples but this is easier than going over it all:http://imgur.com/a/STQGZYh Even though I never had an arcade cabinet at home, I already had everything I needed to get this thing running games within minutes. That includes a JAMMA harness, arcade PSU, Gonbes GBS-8200 VGA converter, a couple Neo Geo MVS boards, etc. It was kind of funny that the Goodwill employees repeatedly reminded me that it was gutted/empty, as if that might discourage me. It had already been purchased and returned once by someone else after realizing it was empty, but it couldn't be a better fit for me since I literally already had everything I needed. I don't plan to start a huge MVS and arcade PCB collection but I plan to eventually get a Darksoft or NeoSD, Killer Instinct 1 & 2, and a MiSTer set up for classic arcade games. I want to add one more button to each set of controls for a proper Neo Geo layout but the arc is not really conducive to that since it will slop down to the right. Might redo the whole control panel. Yeah, since it's a DIY cabinet, there's literally no reason not to add another button and get a proper Neo Geo configuration. I found some really cool arcade PCBs for sale today at BEEP, including Super Contra and R-Type! I'd buy R-Type without question or hesitation if I had 76,000 yen just laying around with nothing to spend it on, but I don't, so... They also had some good MVS games. I forget most of them and what the prices were aside from Crossed Swords, but its price was obscured by another MVS game inside the case. Anyway, put a Neo Geo in there!
