mehguy #1901 Posted November 5, 2015 Hey fdurso, I've been thinking of making of my own supergun. Would this be an easy task?
Project C.O.E. #1902 Posted November 5, 2015 Boo yeah! Just got Neo XYX for $550. That's a very good deal considering it won't be remade. It's for the standard "gamer" edition on the MVS, but seriously I am very happy about this one. Now I need to save up because Last Hope and Gunlord pre-orders are inbound in December and so is Christmas O_o haha. Must have all of these!
fdurso224 #1903 Posted November 5, 2015 (edited) Hey fdurso, I've been thinking of making of my own supergun. Would this be an easy task? Hey Meh, I don't think its that challenging or complex if your tech savvy on working on them. On YouTube they have a few videos to help you on your projects on doing so. Here's a few for your convenience. Hope this helps! Anthony... Edited November 5, 2015 by fdurso224

Hi Jarrod, That's a nice pick up you acquired with Neo XYX. The only thing I dislike about it, is that I have to tilt my TV screen when I'm in TATE mode. But hey, who's complaining! But hey, who's complaining! Will we be seeing it on upcoming Neo-Geo vids from you in the near future? Anthony... I thought for sure this one would end up costing me $1,000 or more because it won't be remade. Now I can get the other four for regular price, which is fine by me. You can bet you'll be seeing this one in an upcoming video. I have three videos complete right now in queue just waiting. Working on the test right now. With Neo XYX that makes 10 videos Btw Anthony, how exactly does one go about updating the NG: Dev Team games?

Well that's great to hear that you where able to purchase a copy at a good price. I can't wait to see it. In regards to your question Jarrod on the update on your MVS cartridges, if you will be doing them with a USB cable, one would need to contact NG Dev Team and request that you would like to install the update to your game. They will instruct you on what to do next! Hope this helps.! Anthony...
fdurso224 #1907 Posted November 5, 2015 (edited) Hi guys, Well, I found this exciting. I found an old picture of me posting here on Atariage of my English version of Rage of the Dragons for the Neo-Geo AES. I still have this game and with the poster and t-shirt (unopen) that included with it. I have to find both because its been awhile since I seen them somewhere in my collection. I purchased this title from Shawn who is the sites founder of neo-geo.com on the neo store page in 2002 for $365-$385 barnd new. I wanted to buy the Japanese version, but they sold out. So only 16 were left of the English version. I don't have the invoice that they sent me. But I think I'm still on file on the neo store. Hope you like it! Anthony... mehguy #1910 Posted November 5, 2015 Ive only really soldered stuff like once or twice.
CatPix #1911 Posted November 5, 2015 Depends what is the size of the things you gotta solder, and the space you have. And the tools you have. For a Supergun, of what I'm aware, it's mostly solderign wires to a PCB and to JAMMA conenctors? It's basic +1 level I would say You need a crayon solder iron, and patience. You can try to pick up a broken electronic item and try to desolder and resold stuff from it to get some training about the time you need, position of your iron tip, etc... Or some shops sells kits to train yourself to solder simple stuff.

Reaperman #1913 Posted November 6, 2015 (edited) Well, I fell off the 'not buying more neo stuff' bandwagon again by ordering Puzzle De Pon. It looks like a neat little game, and since my wife likes puzzle bobble so much, I might even have a 2nd player for this one. I'm still waiting on my sengoku order, and am mainly playing kizuna encounter while I wait. I've really been enjoying the strategy involved in tagging, and the rather satisfying feel when landing hits--I can't properly articulate why it is, but to me it feels like the hits have an especially nice impact to them in kizuna. https://youtu.be/elldJ5ZZsvU Edited November 6, 2015 by Reaperman

Hi Reaper, I always wanted to get into Puzzle De Pon for years, But I always put off because of Puzzle Bobble being the main puzzle title for me to purchase. I still like this game and and its one of those moments if I should look into it more. But for me, I keep getting sideswiped by other titles! Anthony... The tag mechanic was extremely unique for its time, and while X-Men vs. Street Fighter always gets the credit as the first tag game, I liked what Kizuna did with the strategic gameplay. As for Puzzle De Pon, I'm actually working on a review of that one right now actually haha. Fun little puzzle game.
fdurso224 #1918 Posted November 6, 2015 (edited) Hi guys, Many in the Neo-Geo community have to concur that Neo Turf Master is an excellent title. As a matter of fact, its one of the best Golf games in history in the world of video games. However, is it the best game that was ever developed? According to a gentleman by the name of Kim Justice, its quite possible! Of course, everybody has their own individual point of view. However, after watching this amazing video from Mr. Justice, you'll be impressed on what he has to point out to make Neo Turf Masters a remarkable gem of a title. Anthony... Project C.O.E. #1919 Posted November 7, 2015 Mushihisamasa was just released on Steam yesterday, and I've been having a blast with it. Funny how a legendary Cave shooter like that just got released on Steam while I'm working on two legendary Neo shooters. This past week has been an absolute blast returning to the Neo. I may have to purchase some more games in the New Year to keep this high going It also makes me very happy I got Neo XYX. I've always wanted to try this on the Neo compared to what I played on the Dreamcast. Are there noticeable differences between the two versions?

Hi Jarrod, The DC version controls were not that responsive and the levels had input lag that made the levels look glitchy. There were times with the game would crash on you when you were in vertical screen. Neo Geo version had its problems as well. But the Dreamcast game dissatisfied many. NG Dev Team acknowledged this as well and mention that the development kit that they were using was questionable. For collecting purposes, its fine to have. However, if you ever decide to acquire a Dreamcast version and compare the two, you can clearly notice yourself the difference between the two! Anthony... I actually own the Dreamcast version, and reviewed it I don't remember how it played though, so it'll be as if I'm experiencing it again for the first time when I play it on the Neo. You mentioned that there were some problems with the Neo version, care to elaborate?

You mentioned that there were some problems with the Neo version, care to elaborate? Sure Jarrod, I've "heard" that the MVS version had its issues of slow downs and that it would skip a second sometimes when you're playing. But the update would take care of that after its complete. Unfortunately, I don't own the MVS versions of NG Dev Teams games and can't give you the best explanation from my personal experiences with them. The AES versions are the final updates. So I had the updated version of Neo XYX when it was available after it was offered for the MVS. Its still a fun game though. I just dislike the fact that I have to tilt my TV screen for just playing on Tate mode. Personally, the Yoko mode was a waste and it was just added for good intentions on playing this type of style Anthony... fdurso224 #1923 Posted November 7, 2015 Hi guys, Back again with Ronnie from White Boy Gaming. This evening, the kind sir is doing a great playthough video of Metal Slug. If you can handle the slowdown of this game. Its fun to play. Thank you Ronnie for sharing this. From the description, "Metal Slug 2 Arcade (1998) Playthrough! I've never played the Metal Slug games before but I am going to start doing more videos of them. This game was so awesome! The game play, the music, the missions! Sorry for the slowness in the video, this game lags when there's a lot of stuff on screen at once. Great game! Unfortunately I couldn't get the first Metal Slug game to work, I'll keep trying.Metal Slug 2: Super Vehicle-001/II (メタルスラッグ2?), more commonly known as simply Metal Slug 2, is a run and gun video game developed by SNK. It was originally released in 1998 for the Neo-Geo MVS arcade platform as the sequel to the popular 1996 game Metal Slug. " Anthony...

It included a training mode and a few other fixes. I'll shoot them an email and ask if they can send me the update as well as instructions on how to update the game. I really wanted to get Neo XYX for as close to the original asking price as possible because I know this one is going to go for astronomical prices since it won't be reprinted. Can't wait to get Last Hope and Gunlord later this year. I wonder when they'll ship out, likely early next year I suppose.
