It's definitely an excellent thing to buy. It was the first Neo Geo thing I ever bought! I mentioned it before, I think, but I literally got into Neo Geo because they announced that this adaptor was getting discontinued, so I bought one even though I wasn't planning on getting a Neo Geo just in case I did get a Neo Geo. I'm glad I did because the Neo Geo has quickly become one of my favourite systems ever!

 

Anyway, this adaptor goes with the HD Retrovision Genesis cable, but it should work with any other cable that shares the same DIN and pinout. It uses the Neo Geo's RGB signal, so it will look super beautiful and with an aux cable plugged into the Neo Geo's headphone jack and the 3.5mm jack on the HD Retrovision Genesis cable, you get stereo as well!

Ah, a superb choice with Burai Fighter for the NES, I had a friend who invited me to play it and liked it so much that I use to trade my school lunches with him so I can borrow Burai Fighter for the week. Still a great trade IMO. :D

Hmmm. That's interesting to know about the Genesis version Steve. So it shouldn't have a problem with any other cable? That's the cases, it's really a positive for sure....And Stereo as well.

Yeah, as long as it is the same DIN and has the same pinout, it should work, so if you have any sort of Genesis 2 RGB cable already, it should be perfect. The HD Retrovision Genesis cable is designed to work with the Genesis 2 and 32X without an adaptor, which means that the HD Retrovision Neo Geo adaptor will basically take the Neo Geo's RGB signal and put it out through the Genesis 2 DIN in the corresponding pins, so it should work on any Genesis 2 or equivalent RGB cable. No promises, though!

 

Of course if your Neo Geo is a 3-6 and you want stereo, it's best to have some way to swap the left and right audio channels since they are backwards on the headphone jack in the 3-6, unfortunately. I do this in the settings on the OSSC on my Neo Geo preset, but if you have RCA cables you can also just switch the red and white ones around and it will fix it.

Definitely the Neo Geo could have really produced some great sports titles.  Granted, the ones already on there are pretty good, but one wonders what all could've been done on the platform.  Hopefully this title and many unreleased titles are ROM dumped and released for people to try one day.

I agree Hwling, The potential to do so much more is right. NGDEVTEAM has already been pushing the limits with the graphic capabilities to not 1560 megs for the Neo-Geo. I wonder what other developers will try to do next with it. ;-)

I think I'll throw you all a research scavenger hunt for fun... NeoGeo, on Gameboy (and I mean GB and GBC, not Advance)

 

How many games can you find that got released, and hint, they're not just fighting games. :)  A few hit the US, EU even got in on the action, but most stayed in Japan.

Sounds like fun Tanooki. I have to do some searching for this and would love to come up with titles. I do remember Dexterity by SNK...Which I might add played the living daylights out of that game and still one of my favorite Game Boy titles. I don't think that counts. But will be interesting to see what I can come up on. ;-)
