eebuckeye #1 Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) Likely a stupid question... but... 1) I have TI cartridges in GRM format but it appears MESS wants BIN. How do I convert from GRM to BIN? 2) How do I run disk programs? Do I put extended basic in the module slot and then a disk file? Would it then boot automatically when extended basic is selected? Thank you! Edited March 27, 2014 by eebuckeye
Ed in SoDak #2 Posted May 9, 2014 (edited) I haven't figured out Mac MESS for TI yet myself. Could it be as easy as renaming the files TIXBC.bin, TIXBD.bin and TIXBG.bin? Or whatever the original file names are with C.bin, etc. appended as an extension. That's the format for V9T9 and probably PC99 as well. Classic99 wants all three in a single zip file. If renaming doesn't work, just rename them back. To AutoLOAD an XB program, rename it as LOAD stored on DSK1. Try over on the TI Programmers forum for help with TI99 using MESS. -Ed Edited May 9, 2014 by Ed in SoDak

Thank you! Heya Buckeye. 1) I haven't learned how to do it yet, but the .bin files will ultimately go into a zipped file with the extension .rpk. 2) Scroll-lock is the default way to access the MESS menu. From there you'll go to the file manager, then go down to the floppy disks (there are 4 drives), hit enter on the drive you want, then browse to the .dsk file. As far as autoloading, as Ed said, only BASIC or XB programs with the file name 'LOAD' will automatically load (with the XB cart plugged in of course ). Good luck, and again as Ed said, you can chime in on the TI Programming sub-forum here on AA.
