retroillucid
I though some people might be interested in this Sorry, In french only Funny to see that the Atari5200 was not even distributed in Quebec... http://www.retrogamer.ca/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Chronovision_Protégez-vous_JV1983.pdf *Source: retrogamer.ca Edited April 4, 2014 by retroillucid
+davidcalgary29
To be fair, the article does qualify that lack of availability by adding "before Christmas". The 5200 was distributed by Irwin Electronics in Canada? And only available in Ontario? I was barely aware of it myself in the Toronto area, but still... I was going to gripe about the fact that the 5200 was 'not recommended' even though that article gave a qualified recommendation to the Vectrex...but that's fair. I don't really like the 5200, either. Loved the article in general, though! Do you have others that you can post?

Yeah, Irwin distributed Atari products in Canada But apparently, they never bothered to distributed the 5200 in Quebec (Quebec is a weird province anyway ) lol I think they went fair with the systems reviews Judging by the price of the 5200, no wonder why they recommended the CV
Pixelboy
I actually had that issue of Protégez-vous a long time ago. In fact, I may still have it, although I'd be hard-pressed to find it in all the junk in my house.

misspent_youth
Irwin probably saw the cost of translating and printing up separate boxes and manuals as eating up any profits they might have made. I bet Atari 's deal wIth Irwin dumped those costs in Irwin's lap.
