Thomas Jentzsch
This is the only commercial Threes clone I fully endorse: http://t.co/6oTr2PFLU6 https://twitter.com/AsherVo/status/546761958079213569 Wow!

roryjr
You, sir, are no longer allowed to post scores. At least until I can get above 10,000. Ok, still not above 10,000 but I did exceed 6,000 just now.
iesposta
Al, Are you using V1.02 for the carts yet? Are they programmed as they sell, or did you EEPROM burn all of them? I found 2 bugs right as they hit the store. It doesn't affect play, but, well, PM me if didn't know about the bugs.
Thomas Jentzsch
Of course Al got informed immediately. Since the bug is so minor we decided that v1.02 will be used from the next batch of carts. Edited January 2, 2015 by Thomas Jentzsch
+FujiSkunk
Thomas, is the completed version of Three.s available for download, or will it be? I see the link for v0.92, but not anything past that. I have the cartridge now, but I wouldn't mind having a ROM for emulators as well, if that is allowed. Thomas Jentzsch
You can always download the full source code from the link in my blog and build the ROM yourself.

SumerNivek
Hi Thomas, I just received my Three.s cart today in the mail. Absolutely loving it! Strangely enough, I have an iPad but have yet to play the original Threes! I decided to try your version first and now it is making me want to play the original one. Great job on this game and keep up the good work!
+FujiSkunk
Forgive me for being slightly off topic, but I feel compelled to brag and this seemed like the best place to do it. I just had my best game of Threes ever!

Andromeda Stardust
This game is very different mechanically from 2048.
Thomas Jentzsch
Definitely. 2048 becomes pretty boring and repetitive soon. Threes has that extra twist which makes the game much more challenging. You can't get really high scores without having some strategy. enthusi
It is also worth noting the 'fill story' behind threes and the clones thereafter. Being homebrew people ourselves and knowing how hard original concepts really are, we should be aware of the background of this. For that alone I salute Thomas for having choses threes over 2048! And of course it simply rocks
killersquirel
I just found the final version on your blog. Out of curiosity is the 1dot or 2dot random in their appearance on the game board? Edited October 18, 2018 by killersquirel
hizzy
Al, please make a box for Threes!
Thomas Jentzsch
I just found the final version on your blog. Out of curiosity is the 1dot or 2dot random in their appearance on the game board? Yes, they are random. But with a controlled randomness, so that they come in pairs overall. killersquirel
Yes, they are random. But with a controlled randomness, so that they come in pairs overall. Thanks for the quick response. I want to thank you for all of the great games that you brought to the 2600. I'm definitely looking forward to anymore that you will bring in the future.
