Jason_Atari
I have picked up probably around a dozen xonox double enders since ive got back into collecting for the 2600, but ive never come across one of these with them. Its a protective cover that goes over one side of the cart while the other end is being played. How uncommon are they?
fiddlepaddle
I've never seen one.
Rom Hunter
Never seen this before. On which double-ender was it? Edited April 11, 2014 by Rom Hunter
atari181
They came with the game(s) when new. Yeah they are kind of rare as they were usually lost. Edited April 11, 2014 by atari181
AtariBuff
I have these caps also on some of my PAL versions. Edited April 11, 2014 by AtariBuff
+Atari_Warlord
I doubt it is worth anything even if it is rare. I still have the ones that came with the double enders I bought back in the day.
atari181
I have sold a couple for $5 ea
Jason_Atari
Never seen this before. On which double-ender was it? Ghost Manor/Spikes Peak, the most commonest xonox double ender had the most uncommonest dust cover lol.
Brian R.
I have one Xonox cart. It came with the cap. I don't think it's anything special.
Zwackery
They came with the game(s) when new. Yeah they are kind of rare as they were usually lost. Yup. Kind of rare through loss over time. Not really valuable. If you are a completist then you'll probably want to have one in your collection. I think I only have one out of several double-enders I own. Brian R.
Remember, on eBay, just about everything is "rare." The rest is "ULTRA RARE!!!"
20ohm20
One of these came on a Ghost Manor/Spike's Peak that I bought on eBay about 12 years ago. IIRC, someone was trying to sell one of these on eBay for $40 several months ago.
CPUWIZ
Almost all my double enders have these, IIRC, Rick was offering $20 a piece at some point.
+bfstats
Back in the day, I bought 3 Xonox double-enders at retail. One had the cap, the other two did not. Perhaps it's something they thought of AFTER they began shipping their products.
Rick Weis
Almost all my double enders have these, IIRC, Rick was offering $20 a piece at some point. that was some time ago I needed 2 of them have all I need now. Rick
SpaceDice2010
I thought the caps were clear? Goes to show you how long it's been since I have seen one.
Buyatari
When the game was new did each box have 1 or 2 covers?
AtariBuff
I think they just came with one cover, as the other slot should be in use all the time
Buyatari
I think they just came with one cover, as the other slot should be in use all the time Unless the game wasn't plugged in One cover would make sense but two wouldn't be unthinkable. Just want to be sure what is needed to make it complete.
Zwackery
I've only ever opened 1 NIB Xonox double-ender, and it had just one end cap.
AtariBuff
I've only ever opened 1 NIB Xonox double-ender, and it had just one end cap. ... which supports my theory
high voltage
i bought my first double ender in 85, came with one cap
+Nathan Strum
Nobody's yet made a joke about Xonox games being better if caps were left on both ends?
high voltage
Xonox made excellent games, my number 1 game is Ghost Manor, such a good game, sex selection, great difficulty selection, varied game play and you get to kill Dracula. 2) Spike's Peak, a mountain climbing game that works? You betcha. Both games have an ending which is a bonus. Sir Lancelot, Joust with a twist, love it too. Robin Hood, graphically a bit of a mess, but the game play is of high quality Artillery Duel, Worms just earlier, good two player strategy Chuck Norris, ok the first bummer, but still a scrolling Kung Fu game, I play it sometimes Motocross Racer, good racer, nothing really bad about it Tomarc the Barbarian, this game doesn't work, control scheme is just awful, this game is the real stinker of the bunch
AtariBuff
I second that affection for Ghost Manor and Spike's Speak. Not too shabby games on one Double Ender.
